Hello, my name is Craig, and I live in Indiana. My wife and I are the proud owners of a '69 Torino GT, a '63 Galaxie Convertible, an '08 Dodge Magnum, and '01 and '95 Plymouth Neons. We are avid drag racers, and our family revolves around the car hobby. I have wanted a New Marauder ever since they rolled off the truck at the Lincoln/Merc dealer I worked at in '03. My father currently owns a '69 Marauder with a 390. My Torino was actually his first car, he bought it when he was 16, and he gave it to me about 6 years ago. When my '01 Neon finally dies, or when our youngest daughter goes to kindergarten, in about 2.5 years, we WILL be buying a Marauder to become my new daily! Preferably an '04 in Silver. I Really like the blue ones, but I want the better trans more than my favorite color! Well I hope I haven't rambled on too much, glad to be a member finally after a long time lurking around your site!

My marauder is my daily driver and the winters here in New England have taken its toll on the car. I would advise against making it a daily driver!

The trans is a non issue. There is a really nice blue over in the classifieds, check it out. Blues are faster anyways...

Trans can become an issue if you plan on beating the crap out of it. If your planning on DD use with the occasional romp on an empty stretch of road you should have no out of the ordinary issues. Blues are rare but they do pop up for sale here quite often. Oh yeah welcome to MM.net

Welcome to the collective!! Ex Indy man here also. My family still lives there though. You should get the BLUE if that is what you like. The trans is not that of a problem and you can always beef it up. I too like the blue, after the DTR of course. Enjoy the Marauder community!

Wow, I haven't been a member but for a very short time, and everyone is already very helpful! I have gotten so many comments so far about the 4R70 vs. the 4R75 trans being a non issue, that I believe I will go for the gold when the time comes and find the BLUE MM of my dreams. Thanks for making me not fear the '03 trans everyone, I guess I thought if they upgraded the tq capacity there
was a good reason for it. I am thinking now that it was merely a simple improvement between the years. Thanks again everyone, for the warm welcome!

:D It's just one of those things we do for our dreams! I let the wife get a new car before I got the MM, she needed it more. She had a Lincoln LS when we met, and it was falling apart. It was built on a Jag platform. (ick.) She wanted a new Dodge Magnum, so that's what she got! I bought my Neon almost new from the dealer I worked for at the time for what they had in it. 2001 Neon in 2002 with 20k on it for $5k! That was 8 years ago and it's never let me down. So as soon as a few bills get paid off (mostly unsecured credit) my wife told me that we can take some $$$ out of her 401k and get the car I want. (And you all know what that is!):banana:
