I just picked up a Reische T stat to replace mine that failed. Install instructions want me to change the fan settings. I currently have a tune on my x cal. How can I change these settings or will it matter?

It won't really matter. When you need the 'stat the most is in the summer. Most of us run the air conditioning in the summer. The fan is on if the air conditioner is on.
Dont wanna say you are wrong Brian but by not adjusting the fan to the recommended settings the thermostat will not perform as advertised.

Is this something that you can help me with?
BTW: did the grill show up? still driving ghettoRauder. lol!
Grill will ship today and Ive never used user options to adjust the fan, but its quite easy. Follow the guide on Reische website for temps

My experience has been that it makes absolutely no difference where the fan turnon setting is programmed to in the tune because my air conditioner is always on. The fan runs any time the air conditioner is on, even if the engine is cold (way below the 170 degrees the program tells the fan to come on).

I will do as they say it makes sense, at the same time since the fan is on w/ ac it runs all the time since im in Houston. I don't think it ever gets cold here.
FYI the pcm shuts the fan off at any speed over 50mph.

just drive over 50mph all the time then :D
Found on stangnet Seems pretty easy does this sound right?:
When you go to the tune menu, you can scroll through the various tunes (up to three with an Xcal 2). You probably just have the one tune on there. Select it, then it'll ask you if you want to modify the optional parameters. Fans are under that option. Just don't mess with the timing and you'll be okay.
I have an Xcal 2 and I never seen an option for the fan control. Was mine left out by the programmer?

Thanks Zack!,
I was just going to ask if our Marauder fan shuts off at higher speeds.
I don't want my fan running constantly while my AC is on, even when I'm at highway speeds.
I am trying to figure out how to incorporate this feature into the electric fan conversion that I am doing on my Ford Ranger.
The Flex-a-Lite electric fan control module* has some neat features like 60% run speed at your 'ON' fan temperature,
then it ramps up to 100% run speed as you reach the 10 degrees higher set point.
It is wired into the AC compressor circuit so that it will come on with the AC, BUT it will not shut off at highway speeds....:(
I've already called Flex-a-Lite and they don't offer a speed sensitive option.
There must be some way to tap into the 'VSS'/Vehicle Speed Sensor wire in the Ranger's EEC computer....:hmmm:
I might even go this route:

(pretty cool little gadget huh!?)

If you cant tap into it from the PCM here's another idea.
Figure out what rpm's your at when you hit 60mph, get an Autometer rpm switch and use it to trip the negative on the fan. You could even get a 30a relay and put it inline

That would work....except everytime I hit that rpm (@ 2,200 rpm) in any gear it would kill the A/C compressor.
That would make me crazy in stop & go traffic.
I think that I am going to work on that small air pressure switch set-up that was in my link.

Most expensive T-stat ive purchased. I was skeptical at first. Then I did some research on cobra forums and right here on MM.net and seemed like the way to go.
