The first 45 I ever bought was one by The Cramps. A side Big Black Witchcraft Rock B-side Butcher Pete. I didn't know until years later the b-side was a cover about a bi-sexual sex addict when it really sounds like it's about a murderer. I give that 45 to a teacher in college to listen to. He couldn't believe I was into that stuff. Later he told the whole class I had a disease and was too late for my own time. :) Sad, but true.
The most recent 45 I bought was Loco Motion by Little Eva.
What about you guys?

LOL, I don't have a 45 but do have the first automatic .32 that Savage arms produced...
Last "current" 45 RPM was Godley and Creme's "Cry", that was about 1985... I seem to remember buying a oldie or two since then but don't remember exactly what...
EDIT... I 'member now last oldie was "It Will Stand" by the Showmen, that had to be 20+ years ago...
These days 99% of my stuff is in Mp3, too bad the stock 'Rauder system won't play them... I do have a Stang MP3 player in my '98 Grand Marquis, one disk will hold over 2X the music of the seven CD system in the Marauder...

If I recall. I think the first 45 I remember seeing or playing was from the movie Towering Inferno.

My first 45 was Devo's "Whip It" b/w "Girl U Want", but my folks bought it for me way back when.
I can't remember for sure what I purchased first. For some reason, the "What's This S**t Called Punk? A Tribute To The Pagans (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xg2zcfBBUHc)" (Sonic Swirl records, long since out of print) is coming to mind...but I don't think that's right, I think there were some records before that. Though I will say, that is my favorite 45 out of my collection - Ohio punk bands honoring a legendary Cleveland punk band.
"Snoopy vs The Red Baron" by the Royal Guardsman
Some how I missed listing the FIRST 45 purchased, mine was Robert Mitchum's "Thunder Road", I was 11 or 12... We didn't have a working record player prior, Hell I never lived in a house with indoor plumbing till I was nine...
Song with clips from the movie...

I am still looking for that record. I can't decide if it's Doo Wop or R+B.
Blue Suede Shoes , Carl Perkins , Sun Label. Still have it. And on another note, Detonics 1st generation on a severly modified Colt 1911 45ACP.
I have a few Sun Records too, but not that one... the first hit for the label. Lucky man.

"The Snake" by Al Wilson was the first 45 that I can remember buying in the mid-1960's.
Gotta listen to the words for a real appreciation. I was an impressionable teenager and the end of this song gave me the shivers. ;)

I want to say it was called "Little LuLu Knows a Trick or Two." It was a kid's record, maybe even yellow in color. On a side note, anyone remeber when you got records on Honey Comb cereal? I think I still have some Archies stuff from that.
