Ok... I'm ripping off this thread from another forum I belong to, and it's fun, so let's see how it does here! Rules are simple. The person that guesses car in the small cropped photo gets to either post the next pic or pass back to the previous winner. Try to keep the images a sane size to ease the bandwidth... Simply guess the make and model, no year needed. I'll start with a fairly easy one...

Yes - more than one Cheeta (sp?) was produced - cool car!
Cheetah - 1963 only 5 originals built by GM before formally withdrawing from manufacturer sponsered racing.

Only 5 factory made Cheetahs.
Bill Thomas tried to keep the car alive and built some privately but a fire in his garage and racing rule changes put and end to his work in '65.
Only cars 1 thru 5 are GM built Cheetahs. The rest are kit cars.

It was a real treat. We were very fortunate being at the museum the particular day we were, as the car was going out for a display at a Mopar event and we got to see it actually run (not to mention Pops getting a ride in it).
Kinda weird though, going past us at about 15 mph with the turbine howling at high rpms; not loud, like a jet, but sounded the same.

A bit louder than a turbo, but without the accompanying engine noise. And was all up front, out of the engine compartment, almost no exhaust noise. IIRC, the thing idled about 15,000 to 18,000 rpm.
I heard it coming around the corner of the building as the driver was heading to the trailer loading area. I expected to see something come screaming past me. Was I surprised to see it round the corner at a blazing 15 mph... :D

I had a ton of collectable toys when I was a kid, one day I went looking for one of them and my father told me he threw them all out. He said... "You're too old to be playing with toys." Then he landed the knock out punch and asked "You gonna cry over it?"
Never forgot that day when I was only 11yrs old. It replays in my head from time to time when I see stuff I had as a kid on ebay going for a ton of money.
