View Full Version : SCMT in combo with plugs and stat

The tuner has an option for a 180 degree stat, will this benefit me by intalling a 180 thermostat and modifying with the SCMT , also do i have to HAVE cooler plugs, becuase there is no option for that, i dont think.
on another note: I can tell im going to be buying lots of things in the future like torque wrenches, ramps, etc etc

I believe the thermostat option in the MicroTuner modifies the fan turn-on temperature, it doesn't have anything to do with performance, per se....
No, you don't HAVE to use the cooler 'stat and/or plugs, but the basic idea is that they help keep pre-ignition from happening, so the knock sensor won't be pulling back the timing. If you don't use them, then you're leaving some power improvement on the table...

My newer tuner w/ gear changes does not have any other changes in it. Does yours?

Not sure of the date RC but I JUST got it on friday.
Jo- Yes mine has other options, are u sure u looked around at the instruction and tuner itself?

LVMarauder, what other options? mine has gear ratio, shift point 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 & shift firmness 1-2, 2-3, 3-4. THATS ALL
