What is everyone's opinion about them on an MM? The thought popped into my head today and was curious to know what other people thought, not that I'm considering it or anything...

Im usually a white letter hater, but its has crossed my mind once or twice for the marauder.... ok I even tried to picture yellow in my head (nascar/racing look)...

I hope I dont get flamed LOL just a thought.

The thought has crossed my mind, but since the rear tires on my car are like new, I'm not going to pull the trigger or even consider it for awhile...

Still, I would like to see someone's car with them.

White letters have no pizazz. Would make your car look like a gypsy cab

You didn't specify where. A poster opined white letters on the tires. Is that where you envisioned them, or across the windshield?

The Trilogy 1 car has white lettering and graphics across the body as advertisement of their product. I've seen other panther platforms with advertisement graphics IE: candy products, such as M&M's, Snickers, and so on.

I don't care for ostentatious graphics, but pin striping I like. One member has a flame job on his MM. Looks good, but not my cup of tea, I'm a lambo door man myself. Ghost graphics like " Marauder TJA's" car look good.

I liked them.
I ran the treads off them.
You can't get them in 18" Z rated sizes anymore!

I assume that you are talking about white "MARAUDER" lettering on the rear fascia. I would think that it would become a maintenance issue after awhile. The letters would probably catch and hold dirt and maybe even begin to yellow some with time. JMHO.

I would have to see them first to make an opinion; but my first thought is that they would not look as good as the SS Inserts or BW's in Red (or another suitable color).

^^^^^ +1 on Tom's ghost graphics, looks sweet. ^^^^^

Not certain about white lettered tires, think I prefer blackwalls. As to fascia inserts, prefer SS or red over white.

I can't use Photoshop very well at all, so I'm gonna throw out there, that maybe someone could add some white letters to a picture of our cars and see what is looks like.

Sorry for being vauge in my original post. I presumed (my apologies) that since putting this thread in the tires forum that people would associate the two. So, I am speaking to white-lettered tires. I figured the white-lettered tires went the way of the air shock/raked look of the 70s/80s. I couldn't tell you why, but I really dig the look of them.

Raised white letter Radial T/As on my '68 Skylark convertible look perfect.

On the Marauder? I don't think so, Tim. Too redneck/mullet...

...maybe on a Box or an Aero, but not on a Whale.

What size tires are those? They look like the same height as the front. Unless it is some type of optical illusion. I think they look good with the car low like that.

Krytin
10-18-2010, 12:47 PM
255/45 18's

They do work nice if you don't have traction control - there is NO issue w/ABS.
You DO have to lower the car for them to look right.

If you are going to go this route letme know - there is a modification you will need for the passenger side front fender liner. You need to route part of the harness on top of the liner and trim away a part of the liner that covered the harness.

Hmm... I think that would depend on the tire brand. I used one of those markers made for tires and just colored in the existing letters. Didnt take too long, but I dont think this will be an easy way to keep it on there but I've heard of people making stencils for the existing letters and painting them on with good results, so I guess you could just make a bigger stencil for whatever you wanted to write.

I'm keepin this on my tires for the time being because I'll need new ones soon anyways... I really think I like it. Plus I've gotten two compliments on the white letters by guys at my apartment who have always admired my marauder. So I guess it makes it more noticeable (they thought i had new tires lol)

Painting tires? Sounds like more trouble than it's worth. If yous really want to jazz up your tires, stick some portholes on them.

I do like the redline "Hot Wheels" look tho.

LOL youre right. It is more trouble than its worth. And believe me I felt like I was committing a huge sin by doing this (buyin autozone JUNK to put on my car). And about the portholes... i was really just thinking of doin a big scoop on the roof like the green eclipse on Fast and the Furious. Thats gotta be worth at least 30 hp on top of the 10 hp my car gained after the white letters.

If you put the hood scoop on the trunk, it will help with downforce :D

In terms of big letters I'm thinking more like Goodrich Radial T/As, something classic like those.

That actually looks pretty good in the pics. How's it look close up? It might distract from the emphasis on the rims though.

I agree with you guys, the white lettering looks good. IMO, the lettering enhances rather than distracts from the wheels.
