Traded-in the 1986 F150 XLT 4X4 ( a.k.a. winter-beater ) ...

- has a few scuffs and scratches though they should buff-out. *NO DINGS or DENTS.
- interesting ( to me anyway ) weight saving measures on a 5395 lb vehicle ... aluminum hood.

front license plate bracket removed. -free-
Reese trailer hitch receiver added.
spare wheel (and associated mechanisms) removed from under the bed. -free- *Rust-belt considerations to preserve the rim (rust) and tire (chafing).
door edge guards added. -cheap-
funky STX 4X4 decals on the rear quarter panels removed. -free-
Raptor headlights installed.
Raptor taillights installed.
FoMoCo front / rear splash guards added.
dark tinted WeatherTech window deflectors added.
UnderCover hard tonneau cover added.
center high mount stop / cargo light tinted. -free- *Already had the VHT Night Shade spray tint.
OEM step bars powder-coated black.
5" windshield tint strip added. -cheap-
tailpipe tip polished. -free- *Exhaust is stainless steel.
rear lowered 2". -free- *More aerodynamic. 4x4s have a 2" lift block between the spring and the rear-end for added clearance.
airbox snorkle removed. -free- *More air intake, added HP (+7 - s/b close to 300 now) and MPG (+2 - getting 20 mixed).Yet to be done before winter ... black chrome the F-150 fender and tailgate emblems. -cheap-
rust-proofing and undercoating.

:agree: WOW. Your old winter beater looked niiice, but your present winter "beater" looks awesome. I like the personal touches you've done to make it yours, especially the black instead of chrome steps and lowering the rear for that leveled look and easier bed access. oh and removing the stickers. COOL TRUCK :cool:

As always Joe very impressive. You cleaned that truck up considerably! I bet with a tune and a few engine mods it'll take your CV!?

My buddy just got a nice used 05 F150 Lariat - I want one too.
Yours is a very nice truck. Any undercoating or oil spays to frame for winter?

Hey Joe--Now that's my mans Joe's Panther truck--for sure--I must say I like what you did... I kinda figured you would anyway--and am sure there is a lot more to come knowing you---it truly looks better all black like your CV...
