Older UD Pullies

A friend has unused pullies for a 97 Cobra and found that they wont work with his timing adjuster They fit 96-98 mustang gt and cobra with 4.6 2v or 4v engine. Brand new with all hardware and instructions. PLEASE tell me that these are compatible with our 03 4.6 4v engines. I kind gotta act fast on this one.

I may be wrong, but I thought we needed the '01 and up pulleys...the older ones won't work... :confused:

You give us a narrow window to work with, LV, so, I would say that they do not work. I'd rather be wrong about your ideal deal, than be wrong about your enegne.

What other info do you need? Im basically asking if anyone knows of any major changes in the pully system on 4.6L 4v engines in the last 5 years. And is there any reason that they WONT work.

97 Cobra pullies will not work. The water pump is different from ours. If your buddy has the stock pullies still on his car, compare his water pump pulley to yours. One should bow in and the other out. I don't think Ford changed the pulley until mid-year 2001.
