That is bad news, man. Start networking, call in favors, do anything and everything to stay motivated. What line of work are you in?

P.S. They can't take the car if they can't find it.

Very sorry to hear about your situation. There are way too many out there in your shoes .This should never happen in this country. I am not bragging as this would not help you but I have been laid off six times.Times are totally different than when I was going through it. Tell us what you can do or what kind of work you are looking for and maybe someone can help. They say the U S Government is hiring big time in Washington DC. Obama is blaming Bush for it. Hopefully this will continue.

The crews I inspect hire welders all the time. You are a pretty good clip from here, tho. :(

Sorry to hear this my company is down sizing(firing the workers so managers don't have to take pay cuts:rolleyes:). Keep your attitude positive start hunting for another job and park the car in a friends garage. Leave it until you caught up on your payments they cant take it if it's not out in the open

Keep an ear to the ground and pound the pavement. I sent my resume right off the bat to 4 other companies in the same construction trade as my last company after I got laid off and 6 months later, one called me and it is a great company to work for! Sometimes stuff like this is a blessing in disguise. You just need to stay positive, enjoy the time off, and while doing so, look for another job! Sorry to hear and good luck finding another job!

My official lay off date will be early next year near end of Q1. In the meantime, I've started looking anyway and have had some good interviews. Just no offers.

I'm not happy about taking government money (as I know we all don't like freeloaders on the system who don't even want to work) but thank goodness I can qualify for unemployment checks when I get my official notification of lay off (assuming I don't find a job to skip to in the meantime).

Sorry. No dibs on the floormats as the car is already paid for.
