I have a 03 marauder and Ihave problem for my car because i drive faster than 220 Transmission (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=66944)oil down 2 time i have this problem why is the oil down ???

i think it s problem from the shaft...


And i have tune sct the gear 1 to 2 6500 rpm

and 2 to 3 6500 rpm

and 3 to4 6500 rpm

Is this good for the engine and gear???


Is 6500:cool: rpm better than rpm 6000?

Because my friend tells me the best 6000 rpm

for stock engine now i have tune 6500 I feel better than 6000

Hitting the 3-4 shift at full throttle will kill that trans(the OD band)

at those speeds the drive shaft will whip leading to tailshaft bushing damage or the tailshaft itself

136 MPH. Did you have a lot of vibration? You can't go that fast without having the driveshaft balanced or a high speed driveshaft installed.

What gears?

And my tune shaft gear is all 25% Is that good...

If KM, that's 111,846 miles...

That vibration is a WARNING! Vibration=bad!

If the leak is at the back of the trans were the drive-shaft comes out. It's common for the bushing not to be confused with the seal to wear out. I would replace the tail shaft. Get your drive shaft professionally high speed balanced or get an aftermarket drive-shaft

On a stock engine you're not making any power above 6000 so setting the shift points that high make no sense. The fluid is probably flying out the rear seal of the transmission at those speeds. Chances are your driveshaft is out of balance and is damaging the rear bushing of the trans. Get your shaft balanced!

BTW, Going by your other videos, You kick the crap out of your car!

It's not so much the rpms it is the actual speed you are going in which the stock driveshaft just isn't able to take. Once you upgrade the driveshaft you'll feel less vibration and have less of a chance of your driveshaft breaking and possibly wrecking your car.

Why not just get you drive shaft balanced for high speeds? Wouldnt that be a much more inexpensive alternative?

Actually, there are holes plugged in the back of the heads with freeze plugs. Same size as the holes in the front where the crossover tube goes. You can buy a kit that locks into those holes after you take out the freeze plugs, and it will help keep the heads cooler. Extra oil because oil helps with cooling as well as lubrication and with the inertia of the oil sloshing around and at high rpms, most of the oil is in the top of the engine, I just wouldn't want to risk running the sump dry. Some actually mahe the oil drainback holes in the heads larger also. A larger capacity oil pan is a better idea, but, you have to lift the engine just to change out the pan.
