This may be nothing but dumb questions but does everyones dipstick have two twists (top and near tip), a splice and a bend? (I've tried to attach some pics) The partial twist a couple inches above the tip seems wrong. The stick does not go in very easily (no wise cracks!) and has to be twisted to have it seat properly. My thought is that someone jammed it in too hard or wrong and bent it a little. (I'm serious now!) It's a long one so maybe a splice is appropriate but isn't it unusual? (allright now I'm starting to lose it!). If it's wrong I'll seek to get a new one under warranty.
Thanks for the help!

Blue03- I too suffer from knarly dipstick syndrome as you have described-fear not- I suspect many others suffer from this malady, but are too embarrased to speak of it!!:alone::shake:

IIRC, mine has the splice and the twist near the business end, but I don't recall there being a "bend"...it DOES require a little finagling to re-insert (no wise cracks here, either!), but that isn't unusual today...I'll take another look this afternoon...see if you can get those pix to post...

I'm probably doing something wrong trying to post 4 pics at the same time. I'll try just one at a time. Maybe they have to be in the gallery before they are picked up. Lets see.

Ok one at a time it is. The first one shows the bend and tip. The 2nd twist is 90 deg just below the yellow pull loop. this one should be the tip with I think the extra twist. Its about a 45 deg and it passes through where the part number or some number is stamped.

Closer on the tip

And finally the splice with the start of the bend.

^^^what Mac said^^^
Mine has a 90° twist up near the handle (which I never noticed before...der...), then the splice about 1/3 of the way down, then a very slight twist near the end...(dammit Marty, get your mind out of the gutter)
In other words, Blue, it looks just like yours, only without the bend...just bend it back 'til it's straight...(don't make me warn you too, Todd)

Thanks All !!! Thats good enuf for Me...
BTW RF Overlord, I was in LV earlier this week at biz conference. I went thru the Star Trek Experience thing at the Hilton. The shuttle ride (flight simulator) was something else! But I'm getting a little old for that stuff. Dropping through a worm hole after a big steak dinner with beer and wine was almost too much. Note I said "almost". At any rate they had Tribbles in the gift shop if you need any for the Holidays.
Cheers

If you think the Marauder dipstick is long and knarley, it dosen't hold a chance compared to the 03 (Dodge) Hemi stick!!
I believe the manufacturer(s) could better use the 31 inch antenna staffs as dipsticks!!
Wonder why they don't splice antenna's??
I had problems with a knarly dipstick, but the doctor gave me a prescription and everything works just fine now!

That's the longest stick-dip I've ever seen! Mine's only a foot and a half long...probably less...I understood the pipes but jeeze...

Blue,
My dipstick is similar to Yours...same degree of knarliness, but maybe just a "twist" shorter. I'm AFRAID to look TOO close.
Did you have a cigarette after your post ?
I did !
