I'ld have to justify it with a family vacation. What is there to see and do in that area of Texas?

James,
Well it's in the Dallas area,
I know nothing about shopping etc (I only go to Fun Ford, and other races in the area,oh and the Motorcycle show )
But the Dallas Zoo is pretty good.
You got Six Flags,Water World.
Reunion Sq.
I'm sure the locals can expand this list.
Coming from CA.,I here theres a Big Hole in AZ. some people like to look at.
Vegas could be on the way, back.
If you have little kids it could be a long weekend with them at the track.
My wife can only stand about 2-3 hours of "just hanging out" then starts tugging at the car keys.
For car stuff she stays home,by her choice.
I don't look at the check book or credit card statements and we're even.

Cyclone,
Got a kick out of your post.
I saw that hole in the ground in Arizona several years ago. For someone as into astronomy as I am it is a very cool thing. Too bad I lunched a transmission in the family van on the way to see it (last Chrysler product I owned), took all the fun out of it.
The kids are older (16 & 17) so a stop in Vegas on the way back may just get them and the wife to go for it!
I'll start working on them right away!

James with 2 kids at driving age you can leave on Thursday and drive strait through,so that will save on hotel exspense.
I forgot about that hole,I was thinking about the ditch that was carved out by that little stream about 2 million years ago.

I am only 65 miles N. of Dallas so you sure could count on me.
Incidently, this is my first reply so don't have a clue where this is going.

For those of you that don't know the date, its Friday, Saturday & Sunday, September 19, 20, 21. The plan is to have a get together at the local "Official" hotel and have a speaker from the Marauder Project Team out of Dearborn. Drag racing, car show and special MM placement in the pit area. Last year we had the National Bullitt Owners Club there. About 60 Bullitts all in one area. It made every Ford Performance magazine and Dennis Gage's "My Classic Car" TV show. Dennis will be there this year too ("I'm told). I'll try to keep you posted on the festivities. Logan will be the Captain of the Good Ship Marauder as we go along.

All, unfortunately, with the sheer number of commitments I've gotten myself into, there's no way I can co-ordinate this and make it happen, at least not this year.
Great idea, but... No way, no how, can't get involved, got no time to do it. Period.
Someone else, feel free to step up and work with FFW to make it happen.

A bit too far for me, maybe some day someone will set something up a bit more centrally located so more of us can come.

Just got my Marauder on 5/20 & already have put over 800 miles on it in just a little over a week but TX is still a bit too far for us too. We might make the big Ford meet that they usually have every Labor Day weekend at National Trails Raceway at Columbus. OH since it is only 50 miles away. This is the same location that they usually have the Spring Nats & the Mopar Nats.
