I want to change my thermostat and do a clean flush of the system (I think it keeps getting stuck closed)
Many months ago I recall seeing a thread that had detailed instructions with pictures on how to do this properly but I cant find it. I tried the google search function and the websites function.
Can anyone link this to me or say how...I know its pretty simple but I just want to make sure i'm doing it the right way with the crossover tube and whatnot.
Thanks!

Drain coolant
Replace thermostat.
Remove bung cap from crossover tube.
Refill system through bung.
Put bung cap back on loosely.
Start motor and let idle until it warms up.
Wait for hissing and fizzing from bung cap to stop.
Remove cap and add more coolant as necessary.
Replace cap and tighten.

While on the subject.
What is the GREENEST color coolant available?
I heard the motorcraft coolant has that nice color to it.

Was just thinking about time I take it in and get this done, car is almost 7 years old. I wonder if our local Ford dealer knows the procedure for this or if I need to explain it to them? Anybody have prior dealership experience with this?

Where is the drain? On the bottom of the radiator?

Nice. But it doesn't say how to drain the system.

Yes, it has a plastic white petcock on the bottom of the radiator.

Probably black now. I was down there yesterday when I zip tied the lower radiator hose to keep it from sagging down. Looked around a little but did not see it. I will look again.

Hello Vostok,
If you want to drain the block also there is a small screw in plug on the drivers side back by the last freeze plug that will drain more coolent out.
I will be doing this this spring to install a block heater and install a reische thermostate.
