G8 redux? Chevy comeback rumored for Holden Commodore

I was sad when they killed off the Pontiac G8. If they bring it back I might seriously think about getting one (if I can get a 6speed manual).

Its a nice car to be sure. Chevy is already going to bring the Caprice over as a police car so this makes more sense now.

The G8 was a awesome car, it would only make sense to bring it back. Just calling it a Caprice is lame. Maybe replace the Impala with it.

I have such a distaste for any Pontiac due to prior bad experiences, that I can't get behind this. I'm glad Pontiac is dead and I hope they never ressurect it. The G8 looks cool, but I'm willing to bet it isn't very dependable based on the Pontiacs I am familar with.

Maybe Chevy will make it better :burnout:

But the 04-06 GTO and the G8 were not Pontiacs. They were rebadged Holdens that are built much better than Pontiacs and other GM cars built here. I would buy another 05 or 06 GTO in a heartbeat!!

Before Pontiac was killed off. On their web site use to be pictures of a new Pontiac wagon and a Pontiac Ute (Elcamino) along with a really cool hardtop turbo charged Solstice.

the new Caprice is the new Chevy police vehcile and its being built on the Holden platform aka the G8. same car, same motor different front end styling. Said to be a 6.0L 355 HP 384 tq.
