Aint that the truth, the amount of fuel line, aluminum and fiberglass fuel tanks, fuel pumps I have added to the local landfills is appalling.
My Bertram had the original fiberglass tanks from 1965 destroyed in 2007 from unmarked Ethanol at the pumps. I specifically left them in when I did the restoration thinking they would last forever.
In the last 2 years in a down economy I have seen a 20% increase in my business each year, 60-70% of the increase directly related to ethanol.
Tree huggin, misinformed morons!!
The sky is falling!!

Ethanol is a huge scam to provide freebie tax dollars to Iowa corn growers and companies like ADM and Monsanto and is a total waste of our precious fresh water resources.

And the manufacturing process ends up putting more carbon in the atmosphere than would be the case if we just used 100% gasoline. Plus it drives up the cost of food across the board.

I see this at every gas pump and I always wondered what it was! Is there any gas stations that don't contain ethanol or I we just screwed for the time being?

Look around your area, in the Keys we have many gas stations that sell "marine fuel" without ethanol.
I would think around the water you have a chance.
Keep in mind though. you do NOT want to mix the two. MTBE and ethanol don't mix well. Run your tank real low, gas up then stick with it.
I don't try in my MM because when I leave the Keys I am stuck with ethanol blended fuel and don't want headaches.
Sure do miss the extra MPG with MTBE fuel......
