Lookin at up grading the rear in the MM to 31 spline.
Can anyone tell me if the CVPI 31 axle will work or do i have to go with the 31 moser axles.
If the ford ones work what year do I need them from and part numbers would be great.
Hope this isn't asking to much.lol

'05 and newer CVPI 31 splines work in most cases. Somebody had a problem with them in one rear end, but I believe they were actually aftermarket replacements instead of factory Ford ones.

Really?! I didn't list them on my site because I thought none of them fit properly!! Does anybody know for sure?

I cant see ford making two different rear differental housing for these cars.
Just like the stangs I bet most of the parts are interchangeable.

The CVPI have the same rear end lenght and braking system as our MM.

Gonna look into it some more but if any one has done the swap please jump in and give some fee back.

Whatever I find I'LL post.

I just swapped in OEM CV axels a few months ago, they ended up being alittle short though so I had to hammer them in some. No issues so far. :)

Has anyone here actually installed the Ford 31 spline axles and tracklok carrier on their MM without the “c” clip issue?

Thanks

Yep, I did it to my LX Sport, you have to index the axle so the backside of the wheel studs don't have any interference issues.

Thanks for the info…however am not familiar with the LZ sport axle housing. Question that comes to mind, is the rear shocks mounted outboard same as the MM and same overall length dimensions the same?

Thanks

Vics, Gran Marq's and MM's 03' to 10 are the same.

There was a issue with Mosier, I think that has been addressed, the factory 05 CVPI OEM Ford are a good choice I would not use Doorman.

Yes Dennis I heard that the doorman crap is what it is CRAP!

I never knew that mosier had any issues, but I figure the factory ones will hold up just fine.
