He was a funny man...one of the episodes of Police Squad showed him looking through the glove compartment of a car and all that were in there were gloves.:P I cracked up.

Frank Drebin: We're sorry to bother you at such a time like this, Mrs. Twice. We would have come earlier, but your husband wasn't dead then

:rofl::rofl:

Frank: "Is there a ransom note?" Ed: "Yes, the butler found it; it was tied to this window and thrown into the rock garden. I sent the note to the lab; they're demanding one million dollars." Frank: "Why would the lab demand a million dollars?":rofl:

Awww, man. :( My favorite was when he was about to get slapped by a woman and he grabbed her arm so she swung the other one, and he grabbed that one, then a third identical arm came up and slapped him. The look on his face, lol.

Same here. I still watch the DVDs from time to time and they are still hysterical. :(

Don't call me Shirley, lol. I still hear this every now and then.

Rumack (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000558/): Can you fly this plane, and land it?
Ted Striker (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001332/): Surely you can't be serious.
Rumack (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000558/): I am serious... and don't call me Shirley.

Here's one of my favorite exchanges:

Frank (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/name/nm0000558/): A good cop - needlessly cut down by some cowardly hoodlums.
Ed (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/name/nm0001421/): That's no way for a man to die.
Frank (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/name/nm0000558/): No... you're right, Ed. A parachute not opening... that's a way to die. Getting caught in the gears of a combine... having your nuts bit off by a Laplander, that's the way I wanna go!
Wilma Nordberg (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/name/nm0064277/): [cries] Oh... Frank. This is terrible!
Ed (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/name/nm0001421/): Don't you worry, Wilma. Your husband is going to be alright. Don't you worry about anything. Just think positive. Never let a doubt enter your mind.
Frank (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/name/nm0000558/): He's right, Wilma. But I wouldn't wait until the last minute to fill out those organ donor cards.
[Wilma cries again]
Ed (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/name/nm0001421/): What I'm trying to say is that, Wilma, as soon as Nordberg is better, he's welcome back at Police Squad.
Frank (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/name/nm0000558/): ...Unless he's a drooling vegetable. But I think that's only common sense.

To quote actor Russell Brand's tribute, "RIP Leslie Nielsen. Shirley, he will be missed."

My favorite was "Forbidden Planet" circa 1956. It featured the screen debut of Robby the Robot.

I remember when the first Naked Gun movie came out, that I remember actually laughing out loud at the theater. RIP

LOL....just last week Marianne and I were just repeating our version of that classic line...

"Surely you must be joking!?"
"I'm not joking and don't call me Shirley!"

Jane: I've heard police work is dangerous.
Frank Drebin: It is. That's why I carry a big gun.
Jane: Aren't you afraid it might go off accidentally?
Frank: I used to have that problem.
Jane: What did you do about it?
Frank: I just think about baseball.

Mine too ... although Anne Francis took alot of the attention away from Leslie Nielson in that one even at the age of 6 or 8. Can't believe that I saw that one in 1956 .... must have been in a re-release when I caught it a couple years later.

It was hard to take him seriously for his first film in 1956. It was a sci-fi film and I forgot the title. Truly had a unique voice, you'd know it was him even if you had no visual!

Frank: "Niiiiice BeaveR" (looking up as she assends a ladder wearing a skirt).
Jane: "Thanks, I just had it stuffed" (she then hands down a stuffed beaver).

Frank: (packing his desk after being let go, pulls papers from his desk) "It's the missing evidence from the Kelner case....my God, he was innocent"
Ed: "uh, Frank, he went to the chair 4 years age"
Frank: "Doesn't matter"

Frank: (shoots the back of a car, trunk with license plate blows off car from explosion): "anyone catch the plate"

One of my favorite old SciFi movies.

Watched it again a couple weeks ago.

Commander John J. Adams (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000558/): Nice climate you have here. High oxygen content.
Robby the Robot (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0730498/): I seldom use it myself, sir. It promotes rust.
