My drivers seat is pretty flattened compared to passenger.
Ordered a new real Marauder cushion/pad from Ford Dealer - $160
Going to use a bit of the old one to bolster the sides (stiffer) a bit more to make sides higher. So I'll stay in the seat better...
I'll post pics when I get it. I gave them the last 8 of my vin so they know exactly when my MM was made (he said 6-21-02) there are several versions of the seat pad/cushion. Just an FYI if anyone else wants to get one.
These will be discontinued soon.

Does the pad come with the cover? What part number did you order?

Don't know what part number is - correct part # will vary based on MFG date. You'll need to give them your VIN to make sure.
Does not come with the top part (leather) That's another $200 as I understand it.

Good luck getting the seat cover back on with additional foam in there. (not trying to sound like an *******) I replace seat cushions and covers all the time at work and they can be a big PITA to say the least.

I wanted to add just a little bit additional for the outer bolster support.
Any tips you can post on doing this would be appreciated - you work at a FLM dealer right?

yes i work for a Ford dealer. Installing new cushions isn't as bad as the covers. at least the leather cover will be worn so stretching it over the cushion will be easier. nothing worse than a brand new, stiff leather seat cover. As far as tips or tricks, there really aren't any unfortunately.
EDIT*
just checked ford labour times. it pays 1.3hrs so allow yourself roughly 2 hours to complete.

Might be cheaper to go to a local upholstery shop, no?

In a nutshell - how is it done -- could you explain a high level order process - e.g the steps you'd take?

Perhaps, but I want the exact foam mold that's a factory Marauder seat.

So it's not going to be exact now is it?

ha! well most of it is. I want a totally factory fresh new seat. Then I use a sliver of material from the old side bolsters to make it more better-er.
Get me?! :)

^^ Thanks much for posting the howto. Having read it verbatim I may want to have my local dealer do this install. Are these typically ford body shop personnel that would swap the cushion or would it be a general automotive tech. Just want to make sure if I do have dealer install that they have someone whose done it more than once..

Or more importantly, if they screw it up, then the repair is on them.

Depending on your dealer, there is probably an outside subcontractor who does their special interior work. The L-M dealer in my area used a guy who would come in once a week to handle interior upholstery jobs. Sometimes seats have to be sent out for more involved restorations...They also used another outside guy who specialized in water leaks, and yet another for performing paintless dent repair.

at our shop it goes to a qualified tech. you won't find the oil change guy doing upholstery work

Thanks for all this info. Mine needs a redo..... and since Mr. Man now has his own Marauder to flatten seat cushions in.... he will be :banned:from driving mine! LOL!:D (except to take it for oil changes, new tires, any other type of maintenence etc etc.....);)
