LEON, N.Y. (CBS/AP) Levi Detweiler, a 17-year-old Amish youth, allegedly led sheriff's deputies on a mile-long, presumably low-speed chase, after running a stop sign in his horse and buggy and refusing to pull over.
Do they train for this at the police academy?
Deputies said they spotted Detweiler ignoring the stop sign last week. According to police, the teen then led them on a chase that ended when he lost control on a sharp turn into a driveway and overturned the buggy into a ditch. He then fled on foot.
Two other Amish men later helped the deputies free the horse and pull the buggy from the ditch.
No word on whether the horse was a white Bronco.
The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office said that after a week-long investigation they have arrested and charged Detweiler with underage possession of alcohol, overdriving an animal (HAHAHAAA), reckless endangerment, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
The Amish teen was arrested, charged and is being held on $500 bond at the Cattaraugus County Jail.

It’s proper penance!” Regarding entertainment, the farmer told us that he was “aghast at the loose morals of the popular musicians that the children idolize nowadays. Those weak-willed addicts will see a real flame war… on Judgment Day!”

I'll reserve comment. We have had a large influx of Amish folk into our county in the past few years. All I know is when the world turns to crap and you throw the switch and nothing happens anymore, ever, many of us will be going to them to relearn how to live. I'm just curious if they will remain as friendly then as they are now. Never saw a house built so quick and efficently. I will say the sight of someones sqivies blowing in the winter breeze/snow 100' up in the air attached to a 300' long laundry line at the top of a tree still amazes me. I want to know who climbed up that tree? Cause its not at the top. As far as their women? Amish men are lucky SOBs as far as I can tell. No makeup or surgery necessary... :coolman:
