View Full Version : 2002 vs. 2003-04 Crown Victoria Sports
Can anyone please tell me what the difference in performance is between the 2002 crown vic sports and the newer cars? i know the suspension/steering was revised but could someone describe how it feels? Also, did they change the quality of the leather in the 2002 cars? Or the seats?
I really want a marauder but a 2002 CV Sport popped up in the area with 77K miles for $6500 and it looks clean... def. more than one would need in terms of a "daily driver" and my jeep doesnt have any heat lol...

I have an 06 lx sport and my buddy had a 02 sport. I drove his and it was very sloppy i would say compared to the new suspension that the 03 and up come with now. He ended up trading after i let him drive mine he went for a 03 sport BIG difference i would say go 03 and up!

one of the most helpful PMs i've ever received... would love a 2003+ car... or even a marauder... but we'll see how long i can drive around without heat and whats available when the time comes to buy... :(

I owned a 2002 LX Sport for a little over 3 years & 20k miles. I sold it to a fellow mm.net members mother last year. It was a great car, never had any problems with it. It got 23mpg on a road trip to Az & back. It really is a night & day difference in the steering feel from 2002 to 2003 though. The 2003 & up steering just has a tighter feel than the older design. Performance wise they are indentical but they drive completely different with the suspension & steering changes. My 2002 had the cheap feeling leather seats. I believe all the seats are the same, the 03 up just has a different pattern on the seats.
