Hey all...New guy from PA, about an hour west of Philly, and about 10 miles north of Reading. I've had mustangs for 20 years, everything from a 68 GT fastback to a 96 Mystic Cobra. My current mustang is a 78 King Cobra I call the Riddler, I'll post up a picture at the end of this post. The reason I joined is, I am looking for a Marauder for a family car, I had a truck, but now we have adopted a boy from Russia, and we need room. I looked at GMC Typhoons but they are still getting big money and they seeem to be too specialized for me, parts are expensive and they seem a bit fragile. I look forward to gathering as much info as I can before I make a purchase.

:welcome: , Brian, good luck with your search. Hope you find your Marauder soon. It's a great ride.
My husband -- "Fordfrk" is also a mustang buff -- has had several, including a 68 GT fastback.
Again, welcome to MM.net

So, whats been done to the II? I've always been a fan of those!
(would look good with a blown 32v in it!)

Well...it has a 302 roller motor from a 95 GT with 30K miles on it, so far it's all stock, but I'm working on installing a B cam and AFR 165 heads. C4 trans with a mild shift kit, 3.00 rear, headers and dual exhaust with dynamax muffflers. 5 lug conversion, right now it has a set of lincoln LSC wheels, but I have a set of 17x9 Cobra wheels to go on as soon as I get some spacers and tires. The interior is black with green accents and there is a Cobra with a crown embroided into the headrests. Funny you mention the blown 32V motor, there is one in MI that has that setup, I would love to do it to my car but thats ALOT of fabrication.

Here is another II i am working on for my son. I owned it about 10 years ago and found it on Clist this past summer needing bodywork. There is a TON of suspension work done and it was built for SOLO II events.

That is a great looking Mustang II....really wild color scheme!
I wanted one of those Cobra II/King Cobras so bad back when I was in high school.
After being ignored for many years, Mustang IIs are gaining popularity.

Hey all...New guy from PA, about an hour west of Philly, and about 10 miles north of Reading.
Welcome :welcome1: to the MM.Net. You just missed a CAM gathering in Pottstown back in October. Make your plans to attend Carlisle "All Fords" in early June 2011. Oh yes, make sure you get that Marauder before then. ;) There's a Blue MM for sale in Philadelphia on E-Bay. There's a separate thread on that ...... >>> http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=68062

Thanks for the welcome! I used to get alot of slack for driving a II but now when I go to shows and cruise ins I always here "I had one of thses" or "my parents had one" This past Summmer at the All Ford show in Carlisle it got a ton of attention. As for a Marauder, unfortunatley I don;t have a whole lot of money to spend, so I must shop and buy wisely.

Post more pics! A friend of mine had a Cobra II back in 1988, black and gold, it was nice. Maybe it was a King Cobra, memory fuzzy, drank much back then. It was far from stock. This was in Philly, everyone tried to race him in that car, but he babied it.

A guy who used to street race in Detroit back-in-the-day stuffed a built 460 under the hood of a plain silver notchback Mustang II.
That Mustang was a sleeper!

Oh I see you've been here before LOL. This wek being Christms week means the place is a madhouse, traffic which is usually light at best is a mess trying to leave the house. Xmas Village is only a mile up the road from us.
