I went with 35watt DDM Slim Ballast kits from DDMtuning.com.
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=53542
You'd need a 9007 hi/low kit for the headlights and a H1 kit for the fogs. I recommend the 35watt kits since 55watts is overkill really for a halogen housing. 6000k is the most popular color as it is pretty white with a real noticeable blue hue to it. I just recently changed from 6000k to 5000k color and like it a whole lot better, more white (less blue) and overall brighter to me at least. I wouldn't do anything over 6000k cause then you get a lot more color and less light output and also go with the same color temp for the headlights and fogs (matching color temps).
Any questions just ask, I've done several installs on other members vehicles and 3 of my vehicles. I'm awaiting to do my fog lights but need another H1 bulb holder since my one stock one was burnt up some and wouldn't work for the project. Once I have a new one I'll do a write-up on the fogs.

Best bang for the buck,
Slim 9007hi lo kit (6000k temp is the best, I have tried 6, 8, and 10k and I like the 6 the best, most light output.)
The fog lights are more involved, not just simple plug and play..
Try to go over this thread, as he explains pretty much everything in great detail

4300k has the most light output but has the color of a normal halogen bulb. I really like the 5000k over the 6000k. I've got 6000k low beams in my 08 Taurus and I think I will change them sometime in the future when I do the fogs in it as well.
No problem Bodyman! When I ordered my new headlight kit and foglight kit I think it was like $90 for both plus shipping. Can't beat that price especially if you drive with your lights on all the time like I do. I went through a lot of the SilverStar bulbs until I finally broke down and got tired of replacing them so often.

Add another one for the DDM HID kit. I bought the 35w 4500k kit for my Crown Vic because of this forum. No complaints yet.

I agree with the DDM thing, I went with the same. I got the 55w, 5000k, hi/lo setup. One question I have for those of you who have gone with the same, does it seem like your bulbs bounce around a bit when going over potholes? Mine do and it's annoying... the bulbs do move because of the high/low movement a bit... I'm tempted to put the single beam kind in... at least while I'm still in MN, they like their potholes around here.
Those of you who have done the fogs, have you all done it by drilling out the plastic elbow thing, or is there another way around it? I'll probably go with the 35w for the fogs...

Sounds like you might not have them in the housing securely if they are bouncing around. Also 55watt bulbs are longer than 35watt. Are you sure it's not the bulbs and just the housing moving? Make sure all three bolts are tight.

The housing is pretty tight, I can't move it by hand... I'll give it another shot when I take it out of hibernation I guess. When I saw that they bounced like that, I tried to track it down, and the only thing that moved relatively easy was the bulb inside that base that pushes it in/out.

get the 6000k its brighter than an 8000k 10000k or higher. the lower the number means more light 3000k is yellow 4300 is the stock hid on most car from the factory with hids 6000k is white with a little blue looks nice plus the cops don't really care the more blue tint to the light better chance of getting pulled over get a high low kit also dont cheap out and buy low beam only

The 9007 hi/low kit comes with everything you need. I'd get some extra zip ties though.

Hey guys, last night I installed a new set of Bi-Xenon HIDs so I could keep my hi/lo beams. It seams like the bulbs only move a good amount the FIRST time i hit the switch, and then show hardly any movement after that when switching from hi/lo. Also, the plug to connect to one of the original sockets is meant to be set up for the passenger side (length of wire determining that) but only functions the hi/low setting of the passenger side bulb only (again, minimal movement). I've kept the lights out through the entire process to debug these problems before putting everything back, and i believe due to the original series of wiring from the car, when i plug that connector into the original socket on the DRIVER SIDE, it does activate both (but won't reach after i install the lights unless i do some splicing). FINALLY, my high beam indicator light on the dash glows faintly when only the low beams are on. I've checked my grounds and I can't figure this one out. Sorry for the lengthy post, any help is appreciated.

I went with the passenger side for the remote turn on because of the battery being there. I had just enough wire to run to the drivers side without any issue. When you look at the bulb in the housing make sure the metal rod that runs the length of the bulb is on the bottom. Search up "New HID kit" thread, I have the correct pin configuration to ensure that the HID kit high/low/ground wires are connected to the factory plug and not switched around.

http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/Apexcone-Raptor-HID-Kit
Wattage: 35 watt
Bulb Type: 9007 hi/low
Bulb Color: That's up to you. 4300K is factory HID color, 5000K is pure white and 6000K has a blue hue color tint to it.
If you want to get the mounting brackets that's up to you.

Nope, no and negative. The hi/low kit comes with a relay harness. Unless you want to stay single beam but I don't recommend it.

Doing the fogs is not a total plug and play. You have to modify the bulb connector and spice the wires into the fog light power/ground wires.

Great info. I'm about to order now. This site is the greatest. 9007 HI/LOW. with 6000K as I want a little updated look from my lights. That's the whole point of going to HID's correct, the look?

I did mine for the safety factor that I can see more of what's in front of me. I had 6000K before and now have 5000K. I like the 5000K color and more light output better than the 6000K.

If you buy the bulbs separate of the kit they do not come with a lifetime warranty, only a year. 5000K still has a ever so slight hue of blue but 90-95% white and illuminate more.
