Based on their claim that it is the fastest non-specialty pickup on the market...
the little 3.5L V6 Ecoboost must smoke the big 6.2L V8.
That N/A 3.7 V6 does pretty darn good in a pickup, running mid 15s!

Talk about a great engine line-up:
3.7L V6 @ 302 HP
3.5L TTV6 @ 365 HP
5.0L V8 @ 360 HP
6.2L V8 @ 411 HP

For comparison, I'd like to see what the old 4.6L V8 and especially the 'lump-of-iron' 5.4L V8 turned in the 1/4 mile.

I had 2 04 F150s with the 5.4 3v... one was reg cab short bed 2wd with 3.73s and a limited slip diff, probably the lightest/fastest config. The other was crewcab 4x4 open diff 3.55s, and because it wasn't slow enough, after a year of ownership I put 35s on it. The reg cab truck felt like a solid 15s truck on the street where it had better chance to hook; at the strip it was probably 16s territory. The crewcab was probably 20s material after the 35s regardless where tested; it either hooked and bogged, or it spun one tire at 80mph in 1st gear... My excursion (v10, 4x4, 3.73s, open diffs and much heavier - the truck that replaced it) would run circles around it, with only 10 more hp (yeah, I know, and 60ft-lbs)...

The mod motors seem to live and die by their gearing... the 4 speed auto was very anemic, the 6 speed they got in 09 is leaps and bounds above. If only they'd have bigger gears optional, like factory 4.10s and/or 4.30s, they'd be perfect. After my last F150, I swore not to ever buy one again, but I might just have to, especially now that the V10 is discontinued...

The EcoBoost truck in the video weighed in around 5400 lbs, with some proper tuning I see some good results with it.

WOW!! Imagine what a CAI and tune would do. Have you seen the videos of them testing the Ecoboost? Remeber engine number 448AA
