I'm not the oldest coot on MM.net--in fact I'm not an old coot at all, I'm called a recycled teen-ager by my kids. An old coot is a crotchety, unhappy, bitter old man--that ain't me;) I wish I had gotten to know more of you personally so you would understand who and what I am--a very happy, pretty healthy , very much in love with my wife of 58 years, loving Dad, Pappa and Pop-Pop to my family, fun-loving , hard-driving, Marauder-loving old bastard who still loves the smell of burning rubber and the feel of G-forces on a road course. You folks are my "other family" that I enjoy reading about and fooling around with--I wish I could get more people in the area to participate so we could be active with car shows, picnics, monthly meetings, etc--but 2 folks don't make a viable group--numbers make things happen--check out the 2004-2005 "Chucks" threads in the North Texas Marauders forum to see what we did back then---we can do it again.
Now, with this said, "The Cruzer Gang" would would like to be the first to wish all of you a HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR , Maury:burnout:

Happy New Year Phil! I've never understood drinking games. I didn't need them to get drunk nor have I ever enjoyed watching someone drink themself into oblivion. Probably because I had to deal with the consequences too many times over 34 years.

You just described my 22 years of retirement. I am so lucky to have been blessed with good health and happy family---things have really been great. But, I have a list of the disadvantages of being retired :

1. You never get a vacation
2. You can't call in sick
3. You can't have someone do it for you
4. You can't use the excuse " I've got to go to work" when the wife or
kids want you to do something
5. You spend 24 hours a day wondering what will happen next
6. You could end up spending 24/7 with the wife

Somehow I have managed to accept these penalties and look forward to every new day----hope all of you are as lucky:D:D Maury

The Coveted Coot Boot Award. Phil's the charter recipient of this prestigeous recognition.

The award is not based strictly on age; rather, it is a combination of age AND general demeanor. As Phil is both REALLY old, and is the consummate MM.net curmudgeon; he wins, hands down.

rayjay came in a DISTANT second, Bluerauder's got the curmudgeon part down pat, but he ain't old enough... ;) ------> :D
