Mike had seen me complaining about my busted 2 year old HP laptop on facebook and IMMEDIATELY sent me a message offering up his assisstance. Being the procrastinator that I am, I got the unit shipped right out to him a month or so later :sleepy:. First he found the hardrive was destroyed, so he replaced that with what he reffered to as a "supercharged" replacement cause he knows my style... Don't just replace, UPGRADE!:D

After that he purchased disks Vista disks from Microsoft to reboot and they had a vicious loop to them and were also corrupted. With ZERO help from Microsoft he said 7 was in order, and I readily agreed. The system is flat out AWESOME now!

I failed to mention that in the beginning he let me in on some very sound advice for replacing my PC with a really good, efficient, and most importantly, CHEAP one. I went out that day and purchased a Dell loaded with 7 for $379.00! It is way more basic than my HP, but was all I needed to remain on here, do my banking, and more important, surf my normal midget porn sight. Thanks BIG TIME for your help on replacing the old AND dealing with BestBuy on the phone skooling them!

Mike is a GREAT friend ever since we first met in Louisville almost three years ago, we share fun times, great conversations, and even share family hardships, just like friends do for each other.

This is why you all need to get yo azz's out to meets! THIS is how you really meet people! It is not done as easilly sitting behind a screen... I have met so many good people on here and it amazes me how an interest of mine has led to all of this. I used to post ALOT more and the reason why was .net helped me get through my wifes cancer and my 9 month lay off by giving me an escape. Thank you for that!

Thats a geat story Bob! So now we know who to ask a computer question to.I find that most of us are the same we dont mind lending a helping hand to another member. I had a CHI-Town member here a few years back (blew a spark plug) he was pretty frazzled away from home and not knowing what to do I got him set up with a guy who was able to do helicoil repair that got the memeber to his sons hockey turnament and back home and some. I must say its a great feeling when you help other folks out.

On a separate note, it truly is a great story and one of community. When cars get up there in miles, you begin a get a little nervous on cross country trips, but that doesn't happen with the Marauder. If anything does happen, chances are you'll find a member nerby to help out.

Plus 1 on the meets (I need ot get to more of the local ones now that I have gotten settled in my job). I've met a lot of people at the Louisville regional and a lot of the Chicago local meets as well as the great crew here in Atlanta. I'm proud to call everyone her my friend.
