Well, this forum sure is an influentual place! With all these Marauders coming up to my neck of the woods to Hallsville Raceway this Saturday, I just coldn't stand to show up in my wifee's VW GTI. So, I decided to make the call and not put it off anymore. I called a local dealer and got a killer deal on an black '03 300-A MM. How's $27K for one with 200 miles on it? I thought it was a sweet deal, and signed papers this afternoon! Sooooooo, I am now in the club! I will be there Saturday to join the masses, but am leary to run it down the strip since it only has 200 miles on it. Doesn't it need to be broken in before you drive it hard?

muslhed - Congrats on the purchase of your Marauder. As CV stated 1,000 miles of varied speed should do it. IMO I would also change the oil at 1,000 miles.:D

Muslhed--- Great to have another Lone Star Marauder! Break her in easy, and enjoy her for a lot longer! Hope to meet you sometime when business brings me up your way, maybe in January or February. BTW, be careful when you meet Cruzer--- he's faster than he looks!

Break in? Nope- they are built to drive hard- just do it. HOWEVER, running your ride on Saturday will only start you down the modification path- that's the real addiction.... Looking forward to meeting you at Hallsville.

By the way, you would have been welcome to show up in a VW or on the back of a burro. We're not much for being snooty.

Congratulations, and welcome to the club.
Just wondering- was the car that you bought considered new, or used? With 200 miles, it sounds like it may have been a demo. That's not a bad thing, except when the dealer titles it and the warranty clock starts ticking...
As for deal, it depends on where you're located. I could have bought a new 2004 for $25,500, but decided on a 6400-mile 2003 300B for $20,800. In these parts (Detroit area), nearly everyone qualifies for A-plan, and the dealers have to play the discount game to attract buyers. Lots of dealers, but even more discount-holding customers force prices to those levels.
Go 200-300 miles away, and it's a different story altogether.

It was actually considered new. I'll have to check to see when the "clock" actually started ticking.
