hey guys,
i remember last year a gentlemen posted a
report of some sort saying there was only around 7500 marauders that have not been totaled or lost. So i was wondering if any one remember this posting and how many marauder that we lost in 2010.

Hard to say.

I believe Bluerauder posted a 'projected' loss based on past history/averages.

RoyLPita keeps track of VIN's as the information is available.

We lost an estimated 715 Marauders in 2010 (-491 '03 MMs and -224 '04 MMs)

In the Year 2011 …..

Here’s my estimate of the number of 2003-2004 Mercury Marauders that are remaining as of the year 2011. Attrition to date is “just an estimate”.

Total MMs remaining – 6,436 (’03 MM – 4,422 and ’04 MM – 2,014)

’03 MM – 4,422
Black – 4,002
Silver – 235
Blue – 185

’04 MM – 2,014
Black – 780
Silver – 619
DTR – 615

Total ’03-‘04 MM – 6,436
Black – 4,782
Silver – 854
DTR -- 615
Blue – 185

Is this an actual number? If so will we have a classic or is it already considered to be a classic?

It was a classic the day it rolled off the assembly line. The MM was a limited production vehicle. Every day that passes makes it even more rare.

The numbers shown are ONLY ESTIMATES. I don't think that there is ANY way to find out an ACTUAL number.

It's hard to believe that many are lost per year. I just don't see it as realistic. Maybe if by lost we include not only totaled vehicles, but those exported out of the US.

I thought I read somewhere that a middle eastern person bought a bunch of them and shipped them out? Also how many were bought by the Florida highway patrol and what was doen with them after they were done?

None were bought by the Florida Highway Patrol. As I remember the story, an anonymous donor gave 20 MMs to the FHP. Not sure but I think that some went to auction. I would imagine that some of the FHP officers were given "Right of First Refusal" on the cars before they were offered up.

Well I have some info that may help with our numbers. This car here has been sitting downtown Anniston, Al. for a couple of years. The owner is not willing to sale it. His sister says he purchased from a good friend of his out west. Its rough and has been wrecked, but only has 67xxx miles. Has the factory clock with Dark Grey interior. No sunroof, no trunk spoiler.
