Good Luck Ray, I had this done about 10 years ago. When you wake up you will ahve this tremendous happiness as all that pain you have been dealing is gone, however you'll be pretty sore for a couple weeks afterward and won't sleep much the first few days as they tell you to get up every hour and walk around, but it is definitely worth it. good luck

Hey folks, thanks for the thoughts and prayers! I'm sure they worked as the ambulance chasers had the one injectable pain killer that really works for me pulled off the market, Demerol. The last 4 days were no picnic at all.... Glad to be home is an understatement! Have to get back downstairs before I get caught. Surgery was a very successful from I've been told. I won't know for sure for several months, but I can already walk unaided, but have to wear a turtle suit (body brace). Don't much like being fileted though :(

Do up the turtle suit with some graphics, like a super hero or something.
Glad your feeling better and on the mend.

Thanks Casey, There are advantages :D

"Do up the turtle suit with some graphics, like a super hero or something."

Thats an idea. :cool4: I'll have to think about this because being plain white its a blank canvass. Its also more like a girrdle, only covers my lowest ribs.

"Pics or it didn't happen!"

I'll see what I can do later. Still pretty wiped out and its very difficult getting around the house. The surgeon said to just keep using my already prescrided pain meds, but now my doc won't fill them because of the surgery and I'm almost out of one of them. Of course the surgeon isn't even in today....:censor:

Thanks folks. Its makes recovery easier. I actually got some sleep last night!

"No more Demerol! :bigcry: "

Yep, I told my wife I'll never have surgery again... Nothing they gave me worked. :shake: It was a awake nightmare for four days. Cut me open 10", fuse my spine, repair a major hernia and move everything around then nothing works for pain At least at home I can get in and out of chairs/beds/sofas ect without being in agony. Thank the Good Lord its over. I guess it could be worse. Beep called me early yesterday to inform me of two more deaths in the family. :( So this year is starting out bad too.

Sorry to hear that. Nothing like a death of someone close/family to make you appreciate life, injuries and all.
