i have read the eaton parts list forum but there is still several questionsi have.any info is greatly appreciated. 1. do i need the factory cobra heat exchanger or is there any aftermarket ones that would work.if so were can i get the plumbing needed for the heat exchanger?2. do i need the specific ford supercar fuel pump or are they any aftermarket pumps that will work? also with the ford super car pump do you still have to have the kb boost a pump?3. which maf sensor is the cheapist best suited for the swap (stock cobra, lightning,or aftermarket)?4. does the mm throttle cable bracket bolt to the supercharger or do i need at least the cobra bracket?5.do i use the mm crank pulley or do we need a different pulley to work with blower pulley?i know i probably will have many other questions.if any one could make a post with some more of the specific instructions on the swap im sure that alot of people would greatly appreciate it. info on the smaller thinks like heat exchanger mounting and plumbing things needed and how to. Thanks, Jay

Yes, you need a factory HE or can get aftermarket like frozenboost.com has. Plumbing you can get the hoses at your local parts stores. Dual GT pumps, GT with a KB BAP, Dual Focus pumps... Stock plus a BAP if you're not trying to go nuts and get 15psi. One pump plus the BAP is minimum/must. If you change the MAF or sensor, you'll need a tune for that. You can use a MAFia extender on the stock, get a 90mm LAMF and or MAFia extender. The Eaton thread shows how to take the mm throttle bracket and rework it to work on the Eaton. Or you can look for a Cobra bracket. You buy a pulley kit that bolts onto your stock pulley. LFP sells them. The hub bolts to your pulley, new pulley for the sc belt bolts to the hub. This is the main Eaton swap thread: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=60366

all of these have been covered in almost any eaton swap thread on here.

1. you can use any heat exchanger you want, measure the space and fine on that fits

2. use the super car pump and a BAP

3. cobra and L mafs are the same, pick one

4.no, you eed the cobra bracket

5.yes you use the stock mm crank pulley and bolt the metco unit it to it. you CANT NOT use a factory cobra blower pully, it will not work with the mm timing cover

this is something you need to have some fab skills for, its not a bolt in deal, some thing you will have to figure out on your own, thats where the price cut comes from. my threads on my swap and Rexs swaps are as close as you get to directions

IMO, the frozen boost Type 100 heat exchanger is the way to go.

As for the coolant tube, can be a PITA unless you're adept in welding thin wall tubing. May I suggest you send either a donor unit or your OEM COT to ImpalaSlayer; he's got a source that does a great job on the mod for around $100. Looks good, and more important, NO LEAKS under pressure.

Don't forget to hook up with gortch for your brackets.

You can mount the knock sensor(s) on the back of the head. There are some empty tapped holes.

just get rid of them, any good tuner will turn them off anyway so they are pointless

hose goes to what location. sounds dumb i figure the lower outlet on pass
side of exchanger prob. goes to inlet of pump and one from pump to pass
side of inlet to intercooler, then one from ds of intercooler back to ds inlet
on exhanger, if im correct. but wondering were to run resevoir tube to
does exchangers have a small nipple at top like a radiator neck has or do
you have to t hose in somewhere.

another question if i may.do we use the stock alt off the mm. seen a post
says something about having to change out the stock clutched pulley on
alt. is that so? where to get the right pulley

RacerX

I'm at work, yet, surrounded by 14 computers. :D Yes, you need to swap out the pulley or I believe it spins too fast and will burn it out. "Alternator Pulley F5AZ-10344-A, Motorcraft GP-712" Google! Most Ford parts places have it.

you have to swap it for 2 reasons. the main reason being that IT WONT SPIN backwards

the second, it would definitely hit the timing cover

Ahhh! See, I never would have thought of that because I have a HO alt on my mm that's clutchless. Came that way, Springfield pd must have upgraded when they bought it originally. I wonder if mine would bump the cover? Hmmmmm... Thanks Dave! You may have saved me a few bucks!

it shouldnt if the new alt is spaced and mounted the same way.
