I plugged in 1 +co-pilot, as that's what I'm planning on right now. Will let you know if that changes.
------------------------------------------------------
1. I am DEFINITELY attending.
2. Ms. CH may be attending if she has sufficient vaction time.
As in previous years, I volunteer to serve as social director for the first evening, and will TCO reservations at the German restaurant.

If anyone is unsure about how many co-pilots they will have, better to wait and answer the poll a bit later.
I will be referencing this thread for tour and restaurant head counts, and need to maintain accuracy as much as possible.

As in previous years, I volunteer to serve as social director for the first evening, and will TCO reservations at the German restaurant.
As in the years past I'll be handling parking arrangements.
Canopy is ALL MINE!!! :shot:
Everyone else can park out front and on the side of the hotel.
And as usual Mike heckmans V.I.P parking will be out back by the dumpsters.

Folks,
While your enthusiasm is most appreciated, please do not reply to the poll if you are uncertain of having a co-pilot traveling with you.
The results are already skewed, and makes it a PITA to keep track of.

Very cool!
23 Cars,
38 Peeps,
14 states.
With the following states being represented for this years Louisville Annual Regional Meet (thus far):
Missouri, Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Virginia, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusettes, South Carolina, Tennesse, Kansas, Michigan, Arkansas
The first Louisville Meet 6 years ago had only 18 cars, and last year just about doubled that!
Not one year has there been a decline in attendance for this meet and considering there is still 2 months until the date, we may very well hit about 40 cars.
:) ;) :D

'Cha, right!
"Brennivín"is a national drink, a nasty schnapps made from potatoes and flavoured with caraway. It is also called "Black Death", which explains a lot. Many Icelanders never touch it, and a majority of the ones who drink it only do so when feeling patriotic, or as a "chaser" after sampling "hákarl", which consists of putrefied shark flesh, to mask the fish's taste."

We have one helluva turnout for this year's event, and it gets underway in only 2 weeks from todays date!
:) :burnout:
Plans are finalized. We are confirmed. Etched in stone and moving right along.
;)
The itinerary is in post #1 of my other thread in the form of an attachment, and encourage everyone coming to print off a copy or 2 to have with them.
I will have several extra copies with me as in the previous years.
Now, the important stuff,...
It is imperative that you have your hotel room reserved prior to week's end!
The block will be lifted, and you will then pay full room rate, and with no guarantee a room will be available for you.
Again, if you are attending and have not answered the Poll, do so now as I am expected to have a solid headcount for the tours/restaurants so they can prepare for our group and staff accordingly.
If you have answered the Poll are cannot make it, please post up in this thread as I will be closing the other thread to keep pertinent informatioon in one location.
We are now at the 'home stretch' for the 6th Annual Louisville Regional Meet!

"Great, just F-in great. Two weeks and the motor is in so many pieces..." John thought to himself. "How hard is it for motor builders to build motors? And why does it take 8 weeks to put some measly teflon strips in a blower?" he grumbled to himself. "If the race car wanted to play hardball, then so be it. Just wait till it finds out that I'm taking the beater marauder to Louisville. That'll teach it. It can just sit in the garage and miss out on all the fun."
He quickly turned his attention back to the computer and checked his PM's on the forum. Great news. Pops replied back and found him the Pioneer touchscreen he wanted and would have all the new components installed for the upcoming trip. "ProRauder will want a new stereo too. Tough", he thought to himself.
Just then, Outlook popped the warm, glowing New Message toast in the corner of his monitor. Quickly clicking the familiar wisp of information, the new message from Naake snapped open on the second monitor. More good news, the QA1 suspension parts are ready to ship and the shocks he sent in are now valved for drag racing. "I can get these swapped into ProRauder and both cars will now ride smooth, just in time for the trip", John thought to himself.
Looking down at the corner of the monitor, he noticed the clock read 6:53. "I'd better get back to work to pay for this..." he muttered to himself.
The submit button was clicked and Chrome was closed.

So John, which car is coming?
"Is it really 10:52?", John thought. "Where did the morning go?", he pondered with a sly grin on his face. Of course he knew, it was with the attractive phone consultant that just spent the last 2 hours in his office going over the new phone system. Jokes were made and a new phone system was configured, but that really only took about 5 minutes. "I wonder if she can make a mean sammich?", he laughed out loud.
The Outlook notice popped again. Snapping back to the here and now, he checked the forum to see what was happening. "Christ on a bicycle, Cheesehead is right..", John thought. "It was in print right in front of him... Maybe he's just slow." Sigh. "God I hope I don't have to sit next to him at dinner too. That will be painful...". A mental note was made to not sit next to him.
The keys flew furiously with a quick response to the question. If replying to him got his post count up at the same time, that was fine.

Folks,
According to the Hotel staff, there are 11 rooms out of the 35 blocked that are not taken.
Considering the number of cars in the Poll, just about all of the 35 rooms should be reserved.
Minus a couple of locals that are not getting rooms, and maybe a few members bunking together...
We appear to have some 'stragglers' in the mix.
If you have not reserved your room, it will be in your best interest to do ASAP.
I cannot hold the rooms but a few more days.
Afterwards, the cost goes up $30.00+ and no guarantee of availability thereafter.

The day seemed to drag on and on with users complaining of bugs in the new software. "Don't they read the text on the new dialogs?", John thought, looking for an excuse to log onto the forum to see if there was any news worthy of his expertise and witty comebacks. Averaging 70+ hours a week with the new software release was taking its toll and the Louisville vacation was just the ticket. No whiny users and no long hours in front of the monitors.
With a quick click in Outlook, a new message in the vacation thread popped up and the conversation was, as usual, a discussion on when to leave to eat. "Food. If a Marauder owner knows one thing, it's about food.", John laughed. The mouse moved smoothly to the link in the message and in seconds the thread appeared. The usual "What she saids" and "OMGs" were littered through the replies with one particular message centering on the real question, when do they leave to actually get to the restaurant? "Oh my, they're chirping about the 40 minutes it will take just to get rolling to the restaurant.", John thought, remembering how long it took to actually get rolling for dinner during the Carlisle event. "The real question they should be asking is how long it takes them to park.", he chuckled.
Having been to many of these Marauder group outings, John soon came to the realization that there is a specific protocol that must have been buried deep in the owners manual about how to park more than one Marauder in a public parking lot. Any lot, mind you, not just at the lots where there are clearly defined parking areas like car shows. No, they have to be backed into every spot, noses lined up, pedestrians ignored, even if it breaks every law and notion of common sense. Comical, John thought wryly. "They better leave at least another 30 minutes earlier to account for the parking ballet." And make no mistake, it is a ballet. A ballet with really large ballet dancers wearing mostly black, twirling across an asphalt stage with the precision of elephants. "Ha-ha, I even *think* funny thoughts", he said aloud.
If nothing else, the forum once again made the day pass quicker. Mission accomplished!

Been there myself, very tough. I'll be thinking of you, bubba, and we can chat a bit when we get together if you feel like talking about it.

2nd dog in 8 months. A third one is having problems getting up from time to time.
On the bright side, if there is one in this situation, that means there's a lucky dog or two waiting to adopt you :)

"Rats" wasn't the first word I thought of, but was the one that'd sneak past the censors.
Unfortunately, I can't come this year. It's due to a combination of a "surprise" medical cost (two new hearing aids: $9,980) together with the need to be at work when the top two guys are out (which makes me the "#3 Leader", a fact I didn't know). Last night, no matter how I sliced it, it wasn't going to work out, so I pulled the plug on the hotel in case someone else needs a room.
I am really sorry that I can't be there, since I was really looking forward to catching up with everybody (which I can do in Hershey, but still it would've been nice to do in the spring). But I've got to be realistic and recognize that when I need to stay home, I need to stay home. More to the point, I'm choosing to be able to hear people this year (and after) instead of eat bar-be-que.
So - everybody have a drink for me. If anyone gets near Buffalo Trace and can get me one of those wooden "arches" on which to display my corks, I'd sure appreciate it.
(Oh yeah - I released my hotel room from its reservation.)

Update,
The block of rooms has been lifted and a headcount is final. (based upon the poll)
Looks like ~71 peeps and a boat-load (~39) of MM's!
:D
Let us all hope for favorable weather next week as this is going to be one helluva turnout!

I am humbled beyond words at the amount of people that participate and show their enthusiasm for this annual event.
Considering this is only a regional, one couldn't ask for anything more.
Great cars. Great Peeps. Great Fun!
It has become a struggle each year to find something new and exciting to do, and to all my friends in the background that assist (you kow who you are)...
And to the members that make this a success...
Best,
Mike.

“In like a lion, out like a.. well, a typical s#!tty Winter day”, John thought. Spring just didn’t want to show up for the dance and there were so many things to get done before vacation. Getting himself ready for a trip was never a problem. In typical bachelor fashion, it was throw some clothes in a suitcase with the usual tooth brush, shaver and something to give the image of caring what he smelled like. Not that he was looking for love in all the wrong places or anything. "No, this is Louisville we’re talking about", he thought smiling wryly. What would the locals think of someone from Iowa smelling worse than them? He quickly dismissed the notion that they even cared and continue the packing.
It was always the car that got in the way and this time it was the hum. And not just any hum, either. This is was the sort of hum that only brings the thought of dollar signs floating in your head and was the sound of a rear-end not being happy with the world. The beater Marauder had a weird vibration and it just had to be the something in the differential. The drive shaft was pulled and balanced, the u-joints were replaced, but it didn’t matter. DAMN YOU HUM!
The mechanic called him last night and made arrangements to rebuild the differential Monday morning. You would probably drive by his shop several times and not know that magic is performed there. The only clue might be the collection of early 60’s iron sitting in the gravel driveway leading up to the old farm barns on the property. An old green F-100 step side pickup showing patches of undercoat and surface rust on the topside of the sheet metal from the neglect as it baked under the Iowa sun. Or the off-white 62 Ford Country Sedan wagon with faded fake wood grain panels along the sides. They all had stories to tell as they waited to be restored. Tucked back out of view behind a tree line was the newer garage where Mike turned wrenches and created works of art. It was here that the beater Marauder was to be blessed on Monday. "Nothing like cutting it close", John thought, but it was either the hum or his sanity, and no way was he going to drive the Expedition to a Marauder meet. Ack!
It was nearly 5:00 PM and John was still waiting for the NAAKE suspension parts to arrive. The phone call had been made and the appointment to install the new shocks and coils had to be cancelled. “Patience, this is what owning a Marauder is all about.”, John said to himself after hanging up. This meant that he would have to do it himself with jack stands in the cold garage on Saturday. The Outlook toast popped on the monitor, and had it not been from NAAKE, he probably would not have even bothered. Suspension is serious business! The message read: “Hi John. Your invoice is attached. We appreciate your business.” Standard thank you letter fluff. The important info was buried in the attached PDF, the all important UPS Tracking number. His mouse moved with a swiftness it had not seen in days as he quickly opened Chrome and pasted in the number. “Clearly the Internets need more lottery balls today” he muttered while waiting for the UPS tracking page to load. As he suspected, they would be here in time to work them into the Saturday schedule.

Don't know if we can make it to Buffalo Trace, but if so we will pick you up one. Or if anyone local can get it beforehand, we can bring it back and get it to you at Berts.
Hope there are lots of video cameras there!!!

You will find that BT is cheaper at Liquor Barn than at
