Anyone ever have a chirp from the glove compartment area? I thought it was the latch, but it's not. Anthing else that's common knowledge to fix this? It's irritating.

I wish. Shook that stuff around. Especially my Xcal2.
Is it random? Try driving around with it open, that might narrow it down a little, might eliminate a squeaky hinge? Does it do it with the car turned off?

Sure it's not the hood latch? Every six months, that sound comes from everywhere it seems.

Every once in a while, and it only happens during the winter months. I too hear an occasional sqeek/chirp noise. Sounds like it behind or near the passenger side air bag area in my MM.

Drive with the glove box open to see if the noise stops.

Could be your fan motor making noise

I had to ask because mine was squeaking the other day, so while I was driving down the road, I popped it open and shook it up and down and the sound went away.

I know the console has little rubber snubbers, if I rest my right arm on it, it squeaks annoyingly, I've only opened the glovebox twice since 2004, does it have them?

It does it wether the box is open or closed, but seems to be less with it open.

I have pushed on the air bag door/cover and notice that the squeek goes away as strange as it sounds. Drinves me CRAZY!!

Try removing the dot matrix trim panel in the center of the dash. There are supposed to be rubber covers on some of the studs. You might be missing some of them.

We've started having the squeek / chirping sound for the past 6 months coming from the passenger side front seat area. Haven't found it yet.
We've always had the squeek from what most have discribed as the hood issue. Tried adding the rubber stoppers, adjusting the hood height adjustments, lubing everthing. No joy still squeeks and is irrtating as hell.
Never getting rid of the car so hope to find a cure on day. I think we need to have our own colored ribbon for annoying noises and irritating malfunctions like surging air conditioners, heated seat failures, etc. and wear them until a cure is found. Color choices: Black, DTR, Silver or Blue?
