Some of you may recall I purchased a 2010 Taraus SHO last February. The car now has 19K on it. It's been through some normal 1st MY TSB's, but all in all I was pleased with the car until 10 days ago.;) Now, I'm really pleased with it. I purchased a set of tunes from Livernois Motorsports . I can truthfully say, the SHO is now an entirely different beast of prey. :) The difference between stock and having a tune installed is really like night and day. I'm a happy camper now, and the gas mileage is on par with stock, as long as I don't play to much!:D
Must be one sweeeet ride!
One day I may get the police package version! :cool4:

Did you get a CAI kit also? A CAI and tune nets a high 12 second 1/4 mile time. Not bad for $800 investment on a 4,200lbs vehicle.

That same engine lays down 420 Ft-Lbs of Torque.....stock.....in the new F150.
It is so de-tuned for the SHO in order to keep the tranny and differential(s) alive.
Glad to hear that you "woke her up"!

Glad to hear it. I would love to do it to mine, Several questions:
1. Did the tune itself change the sound level of the engine from stock?
2. Does the tune read in via a handheld or via a chip in the computer?
3. What should I budget for an all-in price, Livernois plus whatever else is needed?
4. I won't go with CAI because of the sound. Will the Livernois tune still wake up the engine?
To date, my best, with TC on, is 13.1 at 98. Does it help to turn off TC at the drags?
Thanks for your help. It's not as fast as the MM, but not bad for my beater.

To answer your questions:
1. Tune did not change sound level from stock.
2. Tune reads in via handheld unit.
3. Livernois costs 5 clams plus shipping. 3 tunes included, transmission program only, 93 octane with torque control on transmission shifts, 93 octane with out torque control. You can also request a 91 octane tune vice 93. I haven't tried the tune w/o torque control, but there are others out there who drive with it daily and haven't had issues.
4. I can't detect any adverse sound issues with the CAI. Normal day to day driving should not cause you any sound issues. I can't detect much in the way of adverse sound even under full throttle. With that said, the tune will help in any case. They will ask for your mods before sending the tune.
As far as the TC issue, I haven't raced the car, so haven't a clue here. When I owned my '99 Cobra, I know it worked better when the TC was turned off. I would suspect the same for the SHO when encountering wheel spin.
Hope some of this helps.:)

Only if I could have put three car seats in the back seat ...
But since I couldn't, I bought a Rauder!
