It has become a family tradition over the years that I take the family out to the local dinner theater 2-3 times per year for birthdays and such. The wife's birthday is coming up at the end of January ...... so .....
All of us are going to see Agatha Christie's play "And Then There Were None". Some might know this one by another name "Ten Little Indians". It is one of the better murder mysteries.
The shows at the theater are always very good and we have gotten to know many of the actors and stage hands over the years. It all started back when the kids were little and they really enjoyed it so the tradition was started. The kids were impressed that "it is just like TV but with real people". Interesting that I think these plays stimulated their interest in reading and expanding their entertainment venue. It really works.
Of course the S.O.B. (George) goes primarily for the Pennsylvania Dutch buffet spread; but he's really into the shows too ..... especially anything in the mystery category from Agatha Christie.
If you have never tried this ..... check your area for a local dinner theater and check it out sometime. Dinner and a Show at usually reasonable prices.
THE NURSERY RHYME
Ten Little Indians going out to dine;
One went and choked his little self and then there were nine.
Nine Little Indian Boys sat up very late;
One overslept himself and then there were eight.
Eight Little Indian Boys traveling to Devon;
One got left behind and then there were seven.
Seven little Indian boys chopping up sticks;
One chopped himself in halves and then there were six.
Six little Indian boys playing with a hive;
A bumblebee stung one and then there were five.
Five Little Indian boys going in for law;
One got in chancery and then there were four.
Four Little Indian boys going out to sea;
A red herring swallowed one and then there were three.
Three Little Indian boys walking to the zoo;
A big bear hugged one and then there were two.
Two Little Indian boys playing with a gun;
One shot the other and then there was one.
One little Indian boy left all alone;
He went and hanged himself
…and then there were none.
