After 23 months and over 6000 hours of training, I'm finally a qualified reactor operator.

Now I get to move to San Diego and operate one of two nuclear reactors on the most powerful warship in the history of the planet. I love my job. :D

That's quite an accomplishment. They cram a lot of info into that time. Accelerated compared to civilian school. Congrats!

Thanks everyone! Yes, it's been a hell of a trip. They equate our school to drinking from a fire hose, it is definitely not for the faint of heart.

I'm going to the USS Ronald Reagan CVN-76, which is in San Diego. However, it looks like she's going to be moving to Washington early next year for an overhaul in dry dock, so I'll be moving at least one more time during my enlistment.

I can't wait to get to California! It will be nice to be able to drive the MM like she's meant to again, I've had about enough of the snow and salt and crap. Plus, I miss my eye candy. It's cold here, so there are a lot of heifers packing that extra insulation. Moo.

One of our Members is on CVN-70 - Vinson, which is now on deployment. I'll send you a PM with details.
