For anyone who collects model cars and specifically looking for a Mercury Marauder. On eBay there is a 1965 MM for sale.

That friction motor is interesting. I never saw one in the front like that. I may just bid on it to see how it works.

I have the 1964 Marauder assembled as part of my show display.

My next door neighbor found it at a Yard Sale and he and his son put it together and painted it to match the box. They gave it to me as a gift about 5 years ago. Its been to every car show since.

I also have a 1/24th scale '64 Marauder model from AMT/ERTL. It is a 3 in 1 type that you can build stock, custom or racing. Mine is stock to go with the real '64 Marauder that I own. I painted the model in vintage burgundy to match the full size car. I had a steadier hand years ago and was able to paint the stainless trim too. The box of the model does seem to be a different shape than yours and the color of the car on the box is different as well. I also have a 1/18th scale die cast Marauder in white over red from Yat Ming.

Sometimes I will take both my '64 and '04 Marauders to a cruise night. I have a small sign to display that says "The Old" for the '64 and another for the '04 that says "The New". I'll try to put up some pictures tomorrow after the site is working again.
