I'm sure that the smarmy scumbag is calling in all his favors and 'pulling every string' to get the Justice Department to drop the charges.
BTW:.....:hmmm:....I wonder what Edwards was doing to that rich old bag Mellon to get her to blindly write all those BIG checks to him....:puke:
I knew that this smiling & lying turd was bad news back when he was running for VP/P.
He was campaigning for reduced medical costs and a less expensive medical system...Anyone know how he made all his millions?

He made his fortune by taking a percentage fee for handling paperwork for folks when the government turned loose of airwave bands. I'd have to look it up tonight.

He made MILLIONS & MILLIONS on malpractice lawsuits against doctors and hospitals.
The first lawsuit of this type that he won was probably legit, but he soon figured out how to "shake down" doctors & hospitals for not utilizing Cesarean section type births....
whether the Cesarean procedure was really warranted.....more often......it was NOT needed......BUT......
Doctors and hospitals started doing more Ceasareans as a "CYA" procedure.
Then the flaming D-Bag campaigns and complains about skyrocketing medical costs!......:mad2:
I am really glad to see this scumbag get what he truly deserves!
Bam, found it. What the story doesn't tell is how he managed to rake in the cash for doing the lawyering on something he pushed for. Smart man, have to give him that even if he is a low life.
Edwards Backs Google's Push for Wholesale Leasing of Airwaves
By Molly Peterson - May 30, 2007 14:29 EDT
May 30 (Bloomberg) -- Democratic U.S. presidential candidate John Edwards (http://search.bloomberg.com/search?q=John+Edwards&site=wnews&client=wnews&proxystylesheet=wnews&output=xml_no_dtd&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&filter=p&getfields=wnnis&sort=date:D:S:d1) backed Google Inc. (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/quote?ticker=GOOG:US)'s push for the resale of some airwaves the government plans to auction by January.
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission's auction rules should set aside at least half of the airwaves for wholesalers to lease access to start-up companies, Edwards said today in a letter to FCC Chairman Kevin Martin (http://search.bloomberg.com/search?q=Kevin+Martin&site=wnews&client=wnews&proxystylesheet=wnews&output=xml_no_dtd&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&filter=p&getfields=wnnis&sort=date:D:S:d1).
Edwards, who visited Google's Mountain View, California- based headquarters today, said such a rule may improve high-speed Internet service in rural and underserved areas. The FCC auction ``presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shape the next generation of American technology,'' he told Martin.
Google last week asked the FCC to let wireless companies auction their unused airwaves to other carriers at wholesale rates in a ``real-time'' auction process that would resemble Google's methods for setting ad prices on its search engine.
The operator of the most-used Internet search engine also urged the FCC to invite comment on whether to require the wholesale leasing of ``some, or even all'' of the auctioned airwaves. The commission put Google's proposal out for public comment on May 25.
The FCC auction, involving airwaves valued at as much as $15 billion, may be the biggest of its kind. The airwaves are coveted by telephone, cable and satellite companies that want to offer more high-speed Internet content, such as video clips, on mobile devices. Television broadcasters will free up the airwaves when they convert to digital signals in 2009.
Google says the airwaves also may help newer carriers offer wireless Internet services on fixed devices to compete with landline broadband services sold by phone companies such as AT&T Inc. and cable companies such as Comcast Corp.
