Are all the connections tight?

Did you remember to plug in the MAF connection?

Did you get a new tune for it??

Make sure everything is tight and especially the smaller vacuum tube for blow by. The one that is about an inch in dia. If everything is not tight and you are drawing in air behind the Maf you will throw a code.

no tune... all parts tightly in place

You don't need a tune if your just adding a JLT.

unhook battery for 15 mins, see if it goes away. it may just go away on its own. was the maf dirty?

Do you have a handheld tuner you can read the code with? I know here, you can just drive to an autozone, etc. and they'll read the code for you for free. Make sure that pcv hose is connected on both sides from the plastic mid tube to the back of the DS valve cover. The clamps are tight everywhere, did the tube on the intake plenum behind the throttle body on the right get knocked off? Take it all apart and redo it.

Was there a heavy coating of oil on the filter? You may have covered the the MAF with oil and its throwing a code.

My light came on the other day. The little blow by tube slipped off when I was fussing with the IAC. Disco the battery to clear the code.

I posted a thread on my CAI causing my engine light to come on. I got the light to go off. I took the car to my guy and he said the code for the light said the car was running lean. Any insight from the nice folks here?

Sounds exactly like un-metered air to me, a la loose connection somewhere along the intake piping or the blow-by hose.

Will probly be the case if the light comes back on. Will have it redone if it does.

If it is unmetered air, I don't know what else you could check honestly other than what the guys here have said. If it was directly related to the intake, it'll either be a loose clamp that is somehow allowing air to seep in past the MAF (which would be strange, cause even though you need to clamp the stuff together, it sits pretty snug on each corresponding part.), or it is that little blow-by hose.

I hope it's just something simple with that, it sucks having to really having to hunt down little annoying problems like that. :(

True that bro, I hate having that :dunno: feeling. The fact that I'm still a noobie doesn't help. Its getting easier with every experience tho.

That's what she said!

I think my first question was about condensation getting into the headlights. I thought it was just me, I was wrong.

The heat sheld should be on the side of your JLT not under it. You can have the code read, possible it says "too lean". After a battery reset the PCM should relearn fuel trims etc and it should be good to go.

You weren't flooring it were you? ;)

I removed the heat shield from mine, 2 pounds of useless scrap metal.
