Congrats Mike, I also liked those, thought about getting one for a Daily Driver once, but then I moved to Atlanta and got a deal on a Marauder, but I think you'll really like your purchase. Congrats:beer:

You can't put a sheet of plywood in that. :congrats: on the commuter car. Should be easy to spot in a parking lot full of Camry's and Accord's;)

Purty car! What year is it?

I was just looking at Fusions before I ended up buying my daughter a Honda Civic LX-S.
The front end was just totally different from the one you bought.

The ones we looked at looked like this.....

Very nice. Thinking about one myself. The gas mileage & having to use 93 in the LS8 is killing us, but I doubt Beep will give up her LS.

That's the new 2010 Fusion. Both are sharp looking cars.

Nice purchase! The wife drives an '08 SEL AWD V6. Love it except for the transmission shift schedule. The unfortunate thing is there is nothing aftermarket tuners can do to change that. Apparently it's stored in an ECU that can't be accessed. (I've asked around)

Our friend RoyLPita ran the Oasis for me and has not been in the shop for any issues in it's 3 years of age.

Brian also added that the service records for these cars are quite good.

There are many Fusion's out there to be had at a resonable price as they are being turned in after their leases are up. Such as in this case.

27,1xx on the clock when I picked it up and has been cared for quite well.

Handling is very good, rides quiet, has some pep to it and all the amenities to make me comfortable.

List price - $16,900.00
Internet price - $15,788.00
Adopted it - $15,000.00 + tax, license, etc

Will be purchasing the 5 year/60,000 Ford Premium Care in short order that will cover me to just under 90,000 miles.

I agree with you. Shift schedule sucks and was hoping a tune could 'iron' that out.

Exactly what we have--2010 RED sport. Bought it Sept 2009. Had windows tinted, bought a cargo liner for trunk. Gets pretty good mileage. We just love it!!!!!!!

Then you get one--you'll love it!!!!!!!!!

(wonder if there is a Fusion club out there somewhere)

OK.

I have put about 300+ miles on the Fusion since last Thursday, and want to share my experience thus far.

I love this car!

It is fun to drive and handles quite well with the 18" rubber.

The steering is firm and very responsive.

Rock solid at 85-90 MPH.

The go pedal hasn't met the carpet yet, but performance is decent once you get above 3,500 RPM. Pulls pretty good and does get a bit noisy after 4,500+ RPM's.

Assuming this has fly-by-wire, there is a lag when pushing the pedal at highway speeds before it downshifts to 5th and 4th. Takes a little getting use to.

The shift schedule sucks and apparent it is programmed for mileage. Light throttle from a standstill, it will shift into 2nd before it sees 10 MPH. When driving 'spirited', the shift points improve, but a little less than desirable. Again, takes a little getting use to.

The car is pretty quiet and can carry on a conversation with people in the back seat with no issues. Even at highway speeds.

Plenty of leg room for me, (6.0' / 215 lbs.) and quite comfortable in the driver's seat. Feels a little cramped as compared to the MM as the seats are a touch narrower.

Tilt and telescopic steering helped out a lot in getting comfortable and situated.

There are only a few dislikes about this car...

The heater controls are cumbersome to adjust while the shifter is in park.

The steering wheel controls, in my opinion, could be better as the buttons are recessed and directly next to one-another. (easy to press 2 buttons simultaneously)

When the trunk is completely open, it is damn near impossible to close it without leaving fingerprints on the paint, and I do have to reach up quite a bit to close it.

I wish the driver's window had the auto-up feature and I never cared for the window buttons that you pull up on the close the window(s).

Seriously missing the keypad on the door to lock/unlock the car.

I do have the fob with an added bonus... Remote start. This, I am getting used to in a hurry!

:D

Many more positives than negatives on the Fusion, and anyone considering a new DD, and at a reasonable price, should consider one of these.

Maybe I got lucky? This car not only has the new car smell, but feels as if it has 2,700 miles of driving on it instead of 27,000.

Hope this helps anyone considering adding a Fusion to their stable.

;)

Rolled thru the local Ford dealer parking lot on the way home from work Thursday because Amy saw a Taurus in traffic and liked it, so we scoped out the Fusions and Taurus's. They had a nice SHO, but I didn't think it was 40 grand nice. Sounds like a Fusion with some tweaks would be the better deal.
