Which would you all prefer out of the two? a 2002 Ford Focus SVT or a 1999 Ford Contour SVT? Please don't hound me, it's a practicality thing, not a craving for rice.
Neither...can't fit in either one of them...
oh...yeah...you may get me in one of them...but you'd have to cut me out with the "jaws-of-life":help:

I'm asking cuz my mom owns the Marauder (god that vehicle is the king of the road(in my opinion)) and we're getting me a car, but the insurance is one issue and cost of vehicle is another. My other options are a 1998 Trans Am and/or a 1999 retired FHP Crown Vic. But after driving the Marauder, everything seems underpowered. (Speaking of FHP, they are putting 3 2004 Mercury Marauders into service in the Ft. Lauderdale area as unmarked units. should be interesting)

The Contour SVT was a poor mans BMW 3 series. It had good power (190hp first year,200hp second year) and great handling. The Focus has more room in it. Make sure that have it checked out because a lot have been dogged. Both cars are good. It is a matter of choice.

I traded in a '99 Contour SE 2.5 MTX for the Marauder. Put 86,000 miles on it and never had any real trouble with it. Handled decently and was good on the gas. Get an SVT in good shape and I don't think you will be dissapointed. Focus= Ugly.
Marauder= classy ......4800 miles and counting. Long trips are tough (face gets tired from all the grinning!)

My Uncle had a 95 Coutour euro edition with a Cosworth DOCH V-6. WOW!
My sister has a Focus wagon. Nice practical vehicle.
I've only ever seen one Contour SVT, and I wanted to race him soooo bad!!
Personally, I'd take ethier, for different reasons.

CAF, how many tickets do you have man? :D
The insurance shouldn't be that much different?
Cost...? The MM's are really cheap right now.
Good luck on a choice man, if it helps...the father-in-law trailers a focus behind the winny for 'get-around' wheels....he likes it.

I had one of those and loved it! The guy I sold it to now wants to sell it back. Are you still looking for one?

0 tickets 0 crashes, but we can't afford another MM, because my car has to be under 10k. If we could, i'd take one anyday. but we can't afford the insurance on a firebird or camaro. but that's ok, i'd prefer not to be bothered by so many cops cuz i drive a hot muscle car. i've been fortunate, i've never been pulled over.....yet. thanx all for the imput.

I checked the Auto Trader here and there were about 6 SVT Contours listed. From $7,000 to $10,000. Good luck on finding your car.

Heres what I did to my 1998 Contour I put Euro spec suspension bits and a few Focus Engine performance mods on it. This is before I put my 16" Rage Racing 10 alloy wheels on the car
Its a British Touring Car Championship Mondeo I have a pic with it before I took out a 90 Firebird, Guardrail and tree with it. So sad but I dif liked it when I put the Mondeo ST200 Suspension parts on it was a Gokart for sure.
