Filled up with Shell V-Power 93 on the way home from work tonight. Was listed at $3.639 per gallon. With my Giant points, I paid $3.039.

Heard on the news that oil may be headed to $200.00 per barrel. If that is true, $5.00 gas may not be the upper end of this :bs:

Nothing new, or tricky here folks.....
First they let our butt hurt go away as we all get used to $3.00 a gallon gas.
Now they'll ream us for $4.00 a gallon.
Soon we'll all be "happy" when we can occasionally buy gas for $3.89 a gallon.
Next step is to rape us for $5.00 a gallon.

:mad2:

Meanwhile, we are sitting on more crude oil in North America than the Middle East has!
I hope in my lifetime I get to witness the Middle East exhaust its' oil reserves and quickly return to the desert $h*thole that it is.

Oh!....and hang on to your gas charge cards.
Just wait until all the people in China each own a car...or two!

The annual average increase in the cost of a barrel of crude since the trough a few years back is around $10. For it to spike $15 in a week is an obvious sign of the geo-political issues causing uncertanty in the market. Its not a demand or supply caused spike, so don't worry. If situations in the Middle East remain "non-violent" then the spike can recede as quickly as it came. Or, since were getting into the summer season here in the US, it will remain a constant higher price for longer, rather than a dip and inevitable rise.

Either way, $5 for regular gas is unsustainable, and the fed gov't knows that. Mr. Obama is still on thin ice for his re-election campaign. $5 a gal isnt something he can blame on the previous administration either, so he's going to make sure the strategic reserves get opened up rather quickly once it starts getting out of control. (and that's around an avg of $4.25 for reg).

3.38 a gallon. Some places have been talked about on the new cause their prices have jumped 20 to 30 cents just over night.

Funny how it was said several months ago the prices would go up and up. Now look at the start of civil wars in or around areas where we get gas. It's like the oil companies are setting all this stuff in motion to happen.

LOL, wanna bet? There is NOTHING in the minds of that political party that can't be blamed on the previous administration. I can see it now, "The political turmoil experienced by our brothers in the middle east is an unfortunate side-effect of a war we entered unprepared for unjust reasons." And then this ties in with rise of prices from OPEC, etc...

Plus, this is all assuming he WANTS to sustain the nation as it is. It seems like a real stretch, into paranoia, but there are a number of people that believe he wants to break the economy and the nation down so it can be reshaped in the radical democrat ideal. The sad part is, that theory gains more and more credibility as time goes on....

Agreed.

He didn't bust the gay marriage issue now just because he felt like it... it was strategically done to cause unrest, and distract the conservatives from the other issues - the union fight, the gas prices, etc; and likely to stir some of the crazies and cause them to go ballistic so he can point and go "SEE?!?!?!"

The Sheetz off Prince William Parkway is usually the cheapest in our area at about 10 cents under any other area station. However, I never go there. I normally fill up with Sunoco, Shell or Exxon in that order. Have been using Shell V-Power 93 since they started working a deal with Giant Food that knocks the price down using points accumulated at the food store. I regularly save $0.60 to $1.40 per gallon using the points. Not too bad on a fill-up with Shell saving anywhere from about $10 to $24 on a big fill-up.

Same up here with Sunoco and a chain called Price Chopper. Wonder how long this will last? Sunoco or should I say Citibank just destroyed their rewards card. It was 4% on Sunoco gas, now a hot $.05 per gallon, :woohoo: I'm so excited I could just ____ :(
