Hey guys, I wanted to offer my tools to you guys. If you have anything that needs powder-coating and is of 17x12x9 or smaller dimensions I'll do it. Just pay shipping and for the powder media(I only have a few colors). Sometimes I have access to a larger oven, but not too often.

I'm not trying to make $0.01 on this, so I hope the moderators won't have an issue. Just want to make a good will gesture to the forum. If its an issue, tell me and I'll delete it.

edit: if you want an idea of how some things look, check out my Photobucket album in my signature (under sub album 383). I did my manifold, the bolts for the manifold, oil pan, and timing cover.

Very generous offer. I had a ton of engine parts coated during my build(s) and spent a lot of money on it. I do have a few brackets and small parts from my latest buildup, I'll look into pulling them off for coating if it won't involve a lot of downtime. BLACK

Great offer.

May need some calipers coated in red.

What kind of prep work needs to be done before hand?

Where in N.J. are you? I'll be up there next week.

I'm near Mount Holly, Mount Laurel to be exact, exit 4 off the NJ-TPK

Prep would be to make sure there is no rust on the part. If theres any paint on it take it off, otherwise the bond is just as good as the paint's bond is.

Essentially with powder-coating your ideal situation is to coat over bare metal. Can it be done over rust and paint, certainly. Is it ideal, no.

Im not sure if theres any issue in powder-coating calipers. They see heat much greater than the 400 or so degrees that it takes to cure the media. Anything that sees temperatures higher than the cure temperature might wind up melting/flaking/baking off during use. This is why you cant do headers. I'll leave it up to you to figure it out.

Think of it as a pay it forward sort of deal ;)

Down time should be no longer than it takes to get the parts and materials to me, and then back to you. Same day or next day isn't an issue, as it is a VERY simple and a non-time-intensive process. Takes me about 5 min to coat the part, and 20-30 min to cure it. Sometimes longer if I have to make a stand for it to sit on (ahem bolts!)

That's a very nice gesture. If I wasn't so lazy. I'd have you do my brakes black.

If you want to come up and do it yourself or for whatever reason, don't hesitate. I don't harvest and collect that many body parts.
