As I reported in another thread on this forum, I purchased a 7424XP polishing machine and STARTER KIT from Auto Geek.com.

Everything came in and I watched the "How To" video only to find that my STARTER KIT did not have the necessary products and pads to get me STARTED.

I checked the manifest against the site and all was there, I just didn't know how to interpret the "cleaning" products supplied.

So $154.00 later I have ordered the needed supplies to get me STARTED.

Special, really, really soft towels, swirl remover, finishing glaze, paint sealant and Orange and Red pads.

These should be here in a few days.

I'm wondering how far these products go..........will one 8 OZ bottle of product do a whole car? The Auto Geek tech support people did not answer their phone. How many 6.5 inch pads of a specific color will be needed?

I will report back.

Regards,

Pat

8oz of polish should be plenty! Beware of the learning curve! My first polish job I must have used 16oz with horrible results. Now I put a ring of polish around a fresh pad and work it in to cover the face of the pad just to prime the pad. From then on its just a few lima bean sized dots of polish to do a section. After I do a panel I wipe off the face of the pad with one of those cheap white cotton towels you see for sale in bundles of 30 to remove spent polish. Re-apply few drops of polish and on to the next section. By cleaning the pad with the towel I rarely use more than one pad per vehicle. If you think you will run short send me a PM before you buy by more. Have fun! :)

Is this like the 3M perfect it system? I was more than happy with the results of the blue pad.
