I loved Capt'n Crunch when I was a kid!

We used to call it Cap't Razor Blades...because if you didn't let it soak long enough in the milk, it would SHRED the roof of your mouth.

Yep. I remember that!

Also I remember when they sent out a plastic whistle in the boxes of Captain Crunch as a toy that made a 2600hz tone --People were making phree long distance calls with it!

They are not getting rid of it. They are just no longer marketing it as a kids' cereal.

I old enough to remember when that stuff came out; never was a fan though, it broke up into shards in my mouth! Now it joins "Sugar Crisps" and "Sugar Pops" in the cereal graveyard.

Crunch power!!!

Still holds the record for the only cereal that can sit in milk for 10 min and still be CRUNCHY, and like someone said, shred the roof of ur mouth!!

U wouldn't really notice because u were too caught up into watching cartoons.....

For some reason I recall a little plastic submarine that you put baking soda into, that we put in the kitchen sink. It would regularly submerge, and then rise back up to the surface, it was actually pretty cool for a free ceral box toy.

Also totally remember the "razor blade" effect, ROTFLMAO....

Holy crap already.

Read beyond the headline. They are not discontinuing the cereal. They are just not marketing it the same way.

Sheesh. No wonder misinformation spreads so fast.

I had this once at Planet Hollywood. It was pretty good. It was a Demi Moore recipe. Maybe you'll start finding the Crunch in the baking aisle...

Sheesh. No wonder misinformation spreads so fast.

actually the effect is that it won't be sold in many places, and it will likely just get worse. I found the story because I noticed that it wasn't being sold at any of the supermarkets by me and I was wondering what happened. So sure you can order it online, but around me at least and probably many places, the Cap'n is no more.

You like sugar, huh?
Is there sugar in syrup?
Yes.
Then yes.

Cap't Crunch was the only cereal that if you ate 2lbs of it, you would gain 4lbs to your weight..........I Loved it.
I remember a box would only be 2 servings and a 1/2 gal of milk would only last 1 day.

Things arent totally bad though, (allow me to hijack) I was at a store yesterday and saw they had original "Marshmellow Fluff". I havent seen that stuff since I was a kid. Its made by some little company in New England. Too bad I cant eat any of it.

They are no longer marketing it to kids....which will, in effect, get rid of this super sweet cereal.
How many adults are 'jones-ing' for a fix of Cap't Crunch?

Now....back to my bowl of Cocoa Puffs!

There's a leap you're making that has no reasoning behind it.

They JUST SAID the cereal is not going away. There are dozens of crappy breakfast cereals out there. It'll be fine.

Especially since we have potheads and college kids in this country.
