Because its so much fabric, I washed the car cover while it was on the car with soap and water. the water went thru to the car, i guess because of the soap. would it be a good idea to let the cover dry while its still on the car or will it stain. its a black oem ford car cover with the marauder logo on the front hood area.

I wouldn't take the chance... take it off to dry.

You live in Florida. Let the sun dry it.

I've been wondering how to clean my OEM car cover. Let me know how it turns out.

I don't know a lot about the OEM Ford cover, but if it's anything like a regular aftermarket cover, you needed to take it to one of those Laundromats and use an industrial washer with some all purpose cleanser like 409 or Fantastic. Air/Sun dry.

I don't know if it was a good call to wash the cover with it on the car itself. Depending on the strength of the soap it could just strip your wax job or it could stain/streak the paint.

It also could just wash the dirt through it so you can scrub it into your paint. I wouldn't do it.
I wash my aftermarket cover in my front load large capacity washer with a little Simple Green. Works great, then I drape it over one of my deck rails and it dries in no time.
