OK, It's official. Bert's confirmed for April 17th at 1pm. Lunch will start at 2pm. I'll add the address and direction.

Should be a good turnout. I made reservations for 50-60 people. Please post up on this thread so I can get them a accurate count.

Diane and I will be there and possibly a few other family members.

Dash plaques will be provided for the first 50 cars.

Wish this was on a Sat. Maybe one year it could be combined into a long weekend CAM event. Is there anything else to do in that general area?

There is a little town where the Patuxent River and Bay meet -- Solomons

There is a Holiday Inn Select right on the edge of town, Drum Point Lighthouse you can tour, a Marine Museum, antique shops, restaurants along the river. (and a really cool Tiki Bar!!!!)

We've been there several times in September with "boat" friends. Always fun there in Solomons. Anyway, something to think about for the future.

Anyone else have a thought on this?

The area's grown up a little in the past few years (not a lot). There is also several new resturaunts, chain hotels Marriott's, Hampton Inns, (Hilton Gardon Inn on Solomons Island). On this side of the bridge there is the Naval Air Test Center Museum about 10 miles straight south on RT 235 (Three Knotch Road).

This sounds like fun plus Shaun's suggestion of the Naval Air Test Center Museum. Weekend road trip!!

We do have one. I would need to be in Hagerstown by 8:15 am for it. :bigcry: Plus it is just a lot of driving to do both. I'll see about it as the time gets closer.

If anyone is interested: The Naval Air Test Center Museum is located 22156 Three Notch Rd (aka Route 235). The hours are 10am-5pm Tuesday-Sunday (Closed Monday). Their website is Paxmuseum.com Parking and admission are free. They do accept donations. They very have a nice gift shop, displays of USS Aircraft Carriers, Aircraft Systems and how they developed and were tested over time. I just read they have a new feature. They have four networked manned flight simulators that you can fly solo or against your friends. There is a charge of $10 for 30 minutes of simulator time. Sounds pretty cheap to me. You pick the aircraft and the mission you will fly. Any aspiring pilots out there? They have several scale models of unmanned aircraft inside (one I was worked on the development program and one that Charlie is very familiar with). One the outside there are many real test aircraft from old to the latest Joint Strike Fighter.
I’d be happy to give anyone a personal or group tour and explain anything Naval Aviation if there is interest. I can do this before the Bert’s event (they open at 10am) or some other time (schedule permitting).
The museum is located immediately north if the NAS Pax River Gate One. You’ll need to make a U-turn from the far left lane and head north at the gate one entrance light. The entrance will be on your right after the U turn.

Redesigned the Dash Plaques this year and they are on order. I should have them in next week sometime. Ordered 50 but I'd love to run out and have to order more. The weather is supposed to jump up to 75 this week and today was beautiful. Hoping for some fine weather for the meet. We'll see when it gets closer.

Just got an EM back from Greg (3dogknight) he's checking his schedule, but should be able to come! Plan right now is that Illwood (Matt), myself and Greg will try to meet up in the Tysons Corner, VA area and caravan down. If anyone else in the NoVA area wants to meet, let myself or Matt know!

Cheers

Hopefully, I'll get a chance to get a wash in on the car.

Ideally, I would like to pull the headlights and go through the sand and polish routine as they are pretty sandblasted.

True story.

It's raining like crazy here in Fairfax too. I was going to take the Marauder out anyway to get some of the pollen off :argh: so I don't have to deal with as much of it tomorrow morning.

All this crap is suppose to blow through later tonight, potential for hail and sever weather later for southern MD. Weather guess'ers as betting for a sunny but windy day for Bert's tomorrow. High is slated for around 70 for the Bert's run.

See you there.

Sorry folks...I won't be able to make it.

My Marauder threw a CEL on the way home from the Gettysburg ABC CAM meet and I haven't had the time to even look into it.
It's just going to sit until I have 30 minutes to diagnose WTF.

It was missing on uphill climbs in OD.
Ran fine with OD off and some revs.
Doesn't pull as hard as it used to in the upper rpms...:dunno:

I'll pull the code when I have a chance.

Prolly plugs or a COP. Get the code to know which cylinder to go at first and hope its not multi cylinder misfire.

I missed the smoke show while I was inside; but heard about it from some of the others.

Turnout at Bert's was excellent with 30+ people to fill Bert's back room.

20 MMs on hand (12-Black, 6-Silver Birch, 1-DTR, and 1-Blue). Also had 1 Silver CV LX Sport (05 crownsport) and a rare 1 of 23 '94 Lincoln Mark VIII convertible (Shermanator).
