Thats a nice bike; as close as they make nowdays to a "standard". No need for pseudo-racer fairings. Keep it original and enjoy the ride!

thats the exact reason i bought this bike, i do not like "super sport" bikes. sure they look cool but the ride sucks, i hate laying down and holding my self up, so annoying. i rode an r6 once and that was enough for me to decide thats not what i want. this feels almost like a dirt bike which is awesome.
its the only naked bike i really liked, the others just look like ss bikes with missing pieces :puke:
i only plan to do a few minor mods, mainly just cleaning the bike up a bit with smaller turn signals, getting rid of that plastic think that hangs off the rear and a set of slip ons. other then that im not touching the motor, there is really no need.

I had an r6 and you are right, its just not one of the most uncomfortable bikes it is the most uncomfortable crotchrocket I have ever riden. I hate naked bikes.
To each its own.
Ride safe and remember there are only two types of riders.

Get rid of those mirrors and go for some low profiles and find some led turn signals. I'm sure you will mod the exhaust one day. lol

Is it also a seperate brake/marker light? You can't have enough lights on a bike, within reason of course. To me, the best thing NYS ever did was require DRLs on bikes. Far too many people can not see bikers for some reason. Hell one nit wit couldn't see my DTR in bright sun light directly in front of him let alone a guy on a bike.

Nice bike!
No sport bikes for me either. I tried riding my friends '98 Honda 600 CBR and only lasted about 30 minutes on it. My wrists have each been broken multiple times over the years (mountain bike crashes mostly) and the riding position on his bike really aggravated it.
Oh BTW, I don't wanna sound like your mom but make sure to wear a helmut. Seriously. In November of '09 an elderly man in a F-100 dentside pulled a u-turn in front of me. I was able to slow down a bit (locked both wheels) but hit his left front tire with my front tire. The rear end popped up and I shot across his hood.
There wasn't any damage to his truck but I'd crushed my fuel tank with my right knee and tweeked my speedo with my nads. That one could have been pretty nasty if I wasn't wearing a helmut. This sort of thing happens almost everytime I ride. That was the one time I wasn't able to stop.
Don't dress for the ride, dress for the crash.
