I have had a head tick since day one. Now at 135,000 miles I was thinking of having it fixed along with a new timming chain tensionor before eaton swap. What is the expected cost and does one just have the heads totally redone springs valves seats or just valves for cylender#7 or what ? Cost is always a factor.

I had my 64 valves cleaned, (still had tight tolerances, no need for new guides), new valve stem seals installed (64 of them!), heads cleaned and decked, seats checked and new cams lubed/installed for $400. Oh yeah, lash adjusters were within tolerances too, so we kept the old.

How many miles did you have on the heads at the time you had this work done ?

You know, that's a good question! I didn't use my mm heads. I used late 04 Mach 1 heads with supposedly 70+K on them. Could be more, could be less. You won't know the extent of what really needs to be done until they're off. Be prepared to spend more than what you think on any internal parts of the engine that have age.
