Ok so its my fault yesterday I drove a 09 shelby gt500 and the torque was just so amazing lol then it doesn't help that today I drove a 6-speed challenger et 09 and again it was the torque that I realized the marauder lacks! Without getting money crazy no boost or engine rebuild but for under a $1000 what can I do to at least get a what would seem a 50lb torque increase or maybe just make it feel like it ?

50 ft lbs of torque... a 35hp shot of nitrous :D

If you want the feel of it, gears.

A convertor with a stall matched to your powerband, will give these results.

All this ! I'm guessing this isn't including labor and the budget is $1000

Well, my 98 Cobra cams were $110 in awesome used condition, about $114 for both cam gears and woodruff keys, 4.10's I got used for like $80. I did the cam install and the rear end was about $250.

45° downhill grade is free... ;)

Get some 4:10 gears, tune and look for a good used stall. You will probably be around 1400-1600.

Remember the GT 500, I believe, is alot more money and is supercharged. For that kind of money you can make a pretty fast Marauder.

Add $300 to your budget then you can get SW LT with highflow cats and lead pipes.

"Bolts right on"

..don't forget to tighten the EGR nut.

For $1K you can get 4.10's installed.

Funny, thats almost my setup. Taking it to the dyno when I get it back.

I know you said your budget is $1K but that’s just not a logical sum to spend
and then expect to compete with a 2009 GT500 or a 6speed 2009 Challenger.
Speed costs money and you’ll need to re-evaluate your budget if you want
run with these $40-50K+ guys. Your Marauder is a great platform for increased performance
but it takes a power adder to go to this level.:burnout:

This is what I would do!

This is what I would do!

Wouldn't you need a Dyno tune to get all the horses possible from the headers?

I would go with 410's and a tuner.

And have a little cash left for gas.

Mike.

Get a dyno sheet, and you'd want to stall about where you start the big upsweep on the torque line. I'll try to find mine. Now this won't always help drivability.

Okay, my dyno sheet isn't printable, but it looks like it jumps off at around 3200 to 3300 rpm. Generally, converters are sold "on the 5's", i.e 3000, 3500, etc. This tells me that a 3000 stall would work good for me, as the 3500 would start to be a pain in butt and go traffic. I like the cam idea as well, but you may hurt the top end. Headers, for me, was also a big gain, albeit a pricey one.

I'm thinking stall converter for my 3.55 gears and u/d pulleys

for $1k i would get a cai, a tune, and 4:10 gears, a converter, wont help you on the street, only on the top end, headers are a bit more than $1k

CIA, 4:10 gears, high flow cats & tune.

That will make your Marauder feel a bunch lighter.
As fas as which stall speed to declare, I would make sure you are done with other bolt ons then get the car to the dyno see where your curve starts to make it's move upward.
The closer you match the RPMs of the engine power to the stall speed the more torque will be applied at takeoff.
Most guys love a big HP number, I'm kinda of - a torquey fellow

I payed $120 for 4.10's and $300 for the install. I already had a tuner and tunes for the gear change. So I payed under $500 for some great fun!! It was the best thing I have done so far and I could probably be happy with just that. Naaa. Boost is my next goal.

4.10s, tune and a higher stall TC will help, but you won't get those for $1,000.

Someone needs this sound (yes, I realize it's a SOHC. Still need that sound though)

And I don't care WHAT the dyno sheets will tell you, my ear dyno tells me that's worth OVER 9000HP!

The only way you will really feel a big difference on torque for $1000 is with Nitrous.
Put a 75 shot tuned then rock on.

Tune and 4.10 gears can be had for under 1,000. The tune will add 20-25rwhp and 28-34rwtq, 4.10 gears don't increase power that just make whats there more effective, same principle as a high stall TC.

Tune -380 to 400 depending on the vendor
4.10 gears 150 to 200
Labor and misc parts for gear install 400-600.
