View Full Version : Looking to Replace OEM Stereo

I'm a little ways off from doing this, but I'm getting bored with the factory unit. Ideally, I'd like a replacement stereo that still permits the use of the steering wheel controls and would be the same size as the original. In other words, I don't want a gap or a black piece of plastic where half of the original unit used to be. I really don't want to spend more than $500, but if I have to then so be it.

I don't need in-dash navigation so I'd rather not pay extra for a unit with this feature. I'd like it to be able to accept an Ipod, but I imagine this is a common feature anymore. It's been about seven years since I looked at aftermarket stereos so I'm not sure what's what anymore. What do you guys recommend?

ETA: I'll be getting a bass link at some point.

I really like my Pioneer FH-P80000BT along with the steering wheel control adapter that I got from Pops

I have one of those I am getting ready to install.

I was short the plug needed to hook up the factory subwoofer harness to the stereo. Have the wheel control adapter and the main harness adapter plug. Gonna delete the CD changer probably putting that in the lincoln.
