Hi Gents:

Cirumstances have me considering selling my 2003 Marauder. The car is bone stock, and has roughly 80,000 km (49,600 Miles). I was in a car accident with the vehicle, and the insurance company paid out $5,500 in damages to repair the car. I have photos of the damage, if needed. A Ford dealer did the repairs. The car needs a windshield, and the original back tires are close to needing replacement. The car has two tiny scratches in the back bumper, a tiny scratch in the front bumper and a small door ding in the right rear door that was there when I purchased the car. Other than that, the car is pristine. I am the second owner, the car was purchased new at the dealer I purchased it from, and has never been serviced outside of a Ford dealer. In fact, the original selling dealer did all the service on this car except for the accident repair and one oil change. I have OSAS records and recepits to prove this. I have never driven the car in winter, but don't know if the previous owner did or not.

Am I out of line asking $16,000? What do you guys think it's worth. I'm trying to find a way to keep the car, but I need a new truck, and don't need two other daily drivers! (My antique car stays no matter what...LOL!)

Thanks for your opinions. I might have photos of this car on the site... can't remember...lol. I'll post a link if I can find one. BTW.... if you guys think I'm nuts, don't be afraid to say so. There's a reason I posted this.. :)

i think your free to ask what ever you like, but if i was going to spend 16K on a marauder it had better be in showroom condition! period.
no it needs anything, except me in the drivers seat!
and for me personaly a car that had been in an accident would be a deal breaker at that asking price.

Unfortunately, because of the accident the value goes down dramatically. I think you should be asking around $10-12,000. I think that is very reasonable and I have been following Canadian MM prices for over 7 years now. I had my MM briefly advertised at $18,000 (100,000 kilometers) but zero accidents, original owner, Canadian car, flawless interior, no issues, extended warrantee(Prem. Care 0$ det.). I had two offers at $16,000 but I declined both and decided to keep it. That was a year ago. I'm not too sure what you paid for the Marauder but the prices are going down rapidly. You are better off keeping your MM as you know the history. With your accident, it would be scaring off many potential buyers. How much are you planning on towing? The Marauder is a capable of towing about 4500#s

^^^ what he said. Realisticly 11,900 / 12,300. But I know you guys in the great white north get more for them. Hey, I say there's an a$$ for every seat.

To give you an idea, I bought mine a year ago, no accidents, 71K on the clock. Paint was bad in some areas had 4.10's CAI, Tune, Headers and I paid $9K, so I think you are a little high at $16K, that having been said, if you get someone to pay it, then it's not high

Agreed. I paid 17.6 for mine with 1335 miles, last october. If I could get 17 back for it (now at 1800 miles), I'd probably get rid of it and start over with a crown vic or just drive one of the other vehicles around... I'm waay too tempted to go nuts with this one like I did with the mach. And it's way too nice to do anything to it :o

Mileage isn't bad, but as Peter said, the accident is going to lower the value substantially.

You could list it for $16,000, but realistically, I don't think you'll get many offers.

As as been stated by others $10,000 to maybe $13,000 is closer to market value.

Your not "out of line" just off base... $13K is more "real world" US dollars?

I paid more than 3K less than that for my 04 with 52K miles and similar condition One owner dealer records etc..except it had NEVER been in any accident, original paint etc..
